Hey ladies! We will be expanding our business to a unit this month and are looking for two full-time laser technicians to join our team. I’ve already had a few amazing applicants on Indeed, but I wanted to open up the posting here as well. The unit is located in a brand new plaza at 11685 McVean Drive, Brampton, ON.

Criteria:
- Laser technician certification required
- Female, 18+ years of age
- Must be highly experienced with the Soprano laser hair removal machine (any Soprano model is fine)
- Must be a quick learner and adaptable to change - Training will be provided on the settings and techniques that we use. We use many different settings and techniques, so you must be a fast learner to pick this up.
- Must come to work everyday, on time, as scheduled
- Must have strong customer service skills to respond to client concerns in a professional manner
- Must have strong communication skills (fluent English is required, Punjabi or Hindi is an asset)
- Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. This is a physical role and you will be required to stand for up to 5 hours at a time.
- Must have a positive attitude, be clean, organized, and detail-oriented

Details:
- 1 year contract (minimum time required to work with us, but we prefer employees who will stay with us permanently)
- You may need to work up to 51 hours/week, 5 days a week if we are fully booked (10.5 hour weekdays and 9 hour Saturdays). Your hours will vary every week depending on how many bookings we receive. We expect to open from 9am-7:30pm on weekdays and 9am-6pm on Saturdays. We will be closed on Sundays and statutory holidays. Statutory holidays will be paid.
- $20 cash/hour or payroll at $18/hour for highly experienced laser technicians

Most of us confuse sebaceous filaments with blackheads. Blackheads are dark-coloured bumps that are filled with excess oil and dead skin. Sebaceous filaments help move oil from the sebaceous glands to the surface of the skin. They sometimes look large and can be confused with blackheads, but they help keep the skin hydrated. Age, skin care and the thickness of hair follicles determine how noticeable they are. Obvious sebaceous filaments look like dark spots on the skin, but they’re usually smaller, flat and lighter in color — typically, gray, light brown or yellow. Squeezing or picking at sebaceous filaments risks scarring and spreading bacteria to other parts of the face, which can cause breakouts. Squeezing sebaceous filaments can also damage and stretch pores, making them appear bigger. Sebaceous filaments are a normal part of the skin, which means they will never go away permanently. If sebaceous filaments are squeezed out, the pores will fill up again within 30 days. Facial skin is thin and sensitive and extracting tools are much stronger than the skin. Therefore, sebaceous filaments should be left alone, especially since they serve the important function of keeping the skin hydrated.

This client has been coming in for full body laser and you can see the difference in her hair growth around her tattoo vs the rest of her leg. We can’t laser over tattoos because tattoos are made of pigment, which the laser targets. This means that tattooed skin can get burnt from laser hair removal. Another perfect reaction to laser hair removal at our clinic 😍 The red swelling around some hair follicles is completely normal and a good indication that the treatment worked well. This client came in for a full legs treatment (takes about an hour to do). This reaction is typically seen with thick hair and usually subsides in 20-30 minutes. There are so many businesses in Brampton using fake Soprano laser hair removal machines. Whether it be a knockoff Soprano ICE, Soprano ICE Platinum, or Soprano Titanium, people buy fake laser hair removal machines from China because real Soprano machines are expensive to buy and rent. A fake Soprano costs around $4,000, whereas a real one costs around $100,000 to buy or $300+/day to rent. Fake Sopranos are not FDA or Health Canada approved, making them illegal and unsafe to use. Laser technicians using fake Sopranos are looking to make quick cash at your expense. Fake Sopranos may cause burns and do not provide the same results that real machines do. Some people who buy fake laser hair removal machines are not adequately trained either. Laser hair removal is one of the most difficult aesthetic services to provide because there are so many different settings and techniques involved, so extensive training is absolutely necessary. In this post, I provide pictures comparing real and fake Sopranos. The easiest way to identify a fake Soprano is if it doesn’t have an Alma sticker on the back with the serial number and manufacture date on it. The handpiece being different is another big giveaway. The handpiece on fake devices is usually a different size, has different stickers on it like 1 large caution sticker on the top, may have a screen on the back, and may come with a blue wrist strap (authentic Alma wrist straps are purple). We have over two years of experience at Lase Away and prioritize client safety and results. Of course there is more to providing a great laser hair removal treatment than just having a real machine.
