We're back with another Myth vs. Fact to clear up some common misconceptions about Toastmasters! 🤔

❌ MYTH: Toastmasters is only for people who give speeches or presentations at work.

✅ FACT: Toastmasters is for anyone who wants to become a more confident communicator!

Here's the thing… public speaking isn't just about standing on a stage in front of a crowd.

It's about having the confidence to share your ideas in a meeting, speak up in a group, introduce yourself to someone new, handle an unexpected question, or simply express yourself more clearly.

Bridgewater Toastmasters is kicking off our first meeting of the fall TONIGHT, and we'd love for you to join us!

Our theme tonight is "Back in the Groove!" 🎶

Whether you're looking to build confidence, improve your public speaking, develop leadership skills, or simply meet some great people, Toastmasters is a welcoming place to learn, practise, and grow together!

🚪 IMPORTANT – HOW TO FIND US:
Please use the east entrance facing York Street, located at the corner of Dominion Street.

Look for the Toastmasters sign at the entrance.
The school doors will be locked, so please knock and someone will let you in!

You don't need any public speaking experience, and there's absolutely no pressure to participate. Come as a guest, meet our members, see how a meeting works, and discover what Toastmasters is all about!

🎤 MEET OUR VP OF PUBLIC RELATIONS! 💙

We're excited to introduce Stephanie Mailman-Crouse, Vice President of Public Relations for Bridgewater Toastmasters!

Stephanie is a healthcare quality improvement leader with a passion for communication, leadership, and making a difference.

Through her professional work and community involvement, Stephanie has seen firsthand just how powerful our voices can be, whether it's sharing an idea, advocating for change, inspiring others, or simply having the confidence to speak up.

For Stephanie, Toastmasters is about more than becoming a better public speaker. It's about continuing to grow, strengthening her storytelling skills, connecting with others, and learning to communicate in ways that make an impact.

Outside of work she is an active community volunteer and enjoys supporting causes close to her heart and believes that even one voice can make a meaningful difference.

✨ One of Stephanie's favourite things about Toastmasters is that there's always room to grow. No matter your experience, background, or comfort level, everyone has something valuable to share.

As our VP of Public Relations, Stephanie is excited to help share our club's stories, celebrate our members, and introduce more people in our community to everything Toastmasters has to offer!

🎤 MEET OUR CLUB TREASURER & IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT! 💙

We're excited to introduce Pat Johnson, Club Treasurer and Immediate Past President of Bridgewater Toastmasters!

When it comes to Toastmasters experience, Pat has quite the story to tell!

With 40 years of involvement in Toastmasters, Pat is living proof that learning, growing, and finding new ways to challenge yourself never have to stop!

Pat's Toastmasters journey began in a small rural community and has taken her to some incredible places. Over the years, she has served in numerous leadership roles, including District leadership positions, International Director on the Toastmasters International Board of Directors, and ultimately Toastmasters International President in 2010! 🌎

And after four decades? She still loves Toastmasters!
Today, Pat continues to share her knowledge and experience by delivering educational sessions and keynote presentations around the world, inspiring others to become stronger communicators and leaders.

✨ One of the things that makes Toastmasters so special is the opportunity to learn from people with such diverse experiences. Whether you're attending your very first meeting or have been a member for decades, there's always something to learn and someone to learn from.

We're incredibly fortunate to have Pat's experience, leadership, and enthusiasm as part of our Bridgewater Toastmasters club!

Due to increasing client numbers:
Lunenburg County Home Support Services Society
Requires: 2 x Full-Time Schedulers in their Bridgewater Office
40 hours weekly + on-call rotation

Responsibilities:
• Assignment and scheduling of Home Support Workers
• Telephone communications with care coordinators, staff and clients
• Rotational On-call
• Verification of hours of service

Qualifications:
• Grade 12 Education
• Excellent computer skills
• Knowledge of Computer programs, data entry and mobile applications
• Willingness to learn scheduling program (Alayacare)
• Prior scheduling experience is preferable
• Ability to multitask
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a busy team
• Able to work in a busy and noisy work environment

Hours of work are Mon – Fri + rotational on-call
This position is non-unionized.
