Quick experiment before you scroll on: how many times did you leave your desk yesterday?

Swipe through and count along. Mornings, calls, lunch, that long afternoon stretch. Most people are surprised by how low the number is (we’ve had our own zero days on admin afternoons).

No guilt here. Small, frequent breaks matter more than one big burst of activity, which means the fix is usually simpler than you’d think. Pick one moment tomorrow to stand up, refill your water, or step outside.

Drop your number in the comments. ⬇️

Thanksgiving weekend was full of turkey, walks, late nights and very little desk time. Now it’s Tuesday, and your body is figuring out the switch along with you.

There’s no need to overcorrect or try to “make up” for the weekend. A little extra movement through the day and a bit of patience go a long way while your routine settles back in.

If your neck, shoulders or back are still talking to you by the end of the week, our team is happy to help. Book online through the link in our bio.

When was the last time you moved away from your screen?

If the answer is “I honestly don’t know,” take 30 seconds with us.

Drop your shoulders. Unclench your jaw. Look away from your screen. Stand up and change positions. Take three slow breaths.

That’s it.

Movement breaks don’t have to turn into a full stretching routine or workout. Sometimes it’s simply about giving your body and your brain a break from doing the same thing for hours.

Save this one for your next busy workday, or send it to someone who hasn’t left their desk since this morning.

Do you only book an appointment when something feels significantly wrong?

For some people, that’s what brings them in. For others, care may be part of staying active, addressing recurring tension, supporting mobility, or checking in as their routines and activity levels change.

There isn’t one “maintenance” schedule that’s right for everyone and there shouldn’t be.

How often you seek care, and what that care looks like, should reflect your individual needs, lifestyle and goals.

You don’t have to wait until something feels “bad enough” to start a conversation about what you’re noticing.

Not sure what makes sense for you? That’s something you can discuss with your practitioner.

Quick check: how are you sitting right now?

One leg tucked underneath you? Leaning to one side? Shoulders creeping toward your ears? Slowly getting closer and closer to your laptop?

Sometimes a position feels “normal” simply because we spend so much time in it.

The answer isn’t necessarily finding the perfect posture and holding it all day. Your body generally benefits from variety.

Shift your position. Stand up between tasks. Relax your shoulders. Take a short walk. Give your body something different from the position it’s been in for the last hour.

And before you keep scrolling, consider this your reminder to get up and move for a minute.

Has your routine changed without you really noticing?

Fall has a way of doing that.

The days get shorter, schedules get busier, we spend a little more time indoors and some of the movement that happened naturally during summer can start to disappear.

That doesn’t mean you need to completely overhaul your routine for October.

Instead, ask yourself: **What’s one realistic thing I can do for my health this month?**

Maybe it’s getting outside at lunch. Going back to a class you enjoy. Taking more breaks from your desk. Making time for an appointment you’ve been putting off. Or simply moving a little more throughout your day.

Your fall routine doesn’t need to look like your summer routine. It just needs to work for you.

What’s one healthy habit you want to carry through October?

Today, on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the children who never returned home, Survivors of residential schools, their families and Indigenous communities.

It is a day to listen, learn and reflect on the history and ongoing impacts of the residential school system and to recognize that reconciliation requires continued learning and action beyond today.

We encourage our community to take time to listen to Indigenous voices, learn about the history of residential schools and reflect on the role we can each play in reconciliation.

Every Child Matters.

You stretch it. It feels better. Then a few days later… it’s tight again.

Sound familiar?

When the same area keeps feeling tight, it can be tempting to focus entirely on that one spot. But how you sit, work, exercise, carry things, sleep and move throughout your day can all be part of the bigger picture.

Start by looking for patterns. Does it happen after a long day at your desk? After certain workouts? During particularly busy weeks? After driving?

Recurring tension doesn’t automatically mean something is wrong, but if it keeps coming back or starts affecting how you move and feel during your day, it may be worth taking a closer look.

Not sure where to start? Our team can help you explore what may be contributing and determine an approach based on your individual needs.

Does anyone else start spending a little more time on the couch as soon as fall arrives?

When the weather changes, our routines often change with it. We may walk less, spend more time indoors, sit for longer periods, or change the activities we normally enjoy.

So if your body feels a little different as we head into fall, the temperature itself may not be the only thing to consider. Changes in movement, sleep, stress and everyday routines can all play a role in how we feel.

Heading into the weekend, consider this your reminder that staying active doesn’t have to mean a workout. A walk, a few movement breaks, or simply getting up and doing something you enjoy all count.

What’s your favourite way to stay active when the weather starts cooling down?
