How yoga can make you happy....
Yoga, firstly, is not just about the poses we practice. Let me explainâŚ
We have been taught to only think about our physical reality. For example: âwork hard on our physical health to be healthyâ; or âacquire lots of âthingsâ and you will be happyâ.
However, this perspective is starting to change as we realize we are multidimensional beings. The old paradigm of how we viewed reality is crumbling. We are seeing more focus on the importance of mindfulness, of work-life balance, and of understanding mental health, and we are seeing an increase in ânaturalâ therapies to help support our sense of balance.
The thing is, if we are always operating in âbusy-nessâ we canât feel that our soul is craving stillness. We canât feel into the more subtle aspects of our feelings, thoughts, intuitions, and desires. If we canât feel these aspects, then we canât address our needs and desires. Instead, we operate from a place of what is expected of us in this world. It is not selfish to connect with our desires and needs â it is an absolute necessity if we want to live a happy life!
Yoga has multiple practices that work to bring us back to the present so we can really feel these aspects of ourselves.
These practices include physical postures, breath work, visualizations, sacred mantra sounds, devotional or spiritual practices, and ethical practices. When you understand how each of these practices work, and learn how to feel where you are out of alignment, you can then apply the practice that brings you back to living in the moment. No feeling of needing to run to the next task, no worrying about what is to come, no being stuck in the past.
This website and my services are to help you learn how yoga works, and to start using practices that will help you find stillness so you can feel your heart. Then you can go out into the world with a full cup.
