My approach is collaborative. We work together to make sure you are comfortable during your whole session.

✅Ongoing consent
✅Check ins
✅A call button so you can call me anytime if you want to be left alone during your needle nap
✅Time for questions with supportive answers
✅Follow up emails
✅Ongoing lifestyle support
✅If you don’t want to be alone resting with your needles I’ll hang quietly in the room with you
✅ Minimal needles if you are hesitant about being poked
✅Adding in other modalities that support your body like reiki, cupping, ear seeds, auricular acupuncture, guided meditation, breathwork, gua sha, tuina (Chinese massage)
✅Adding in heat or removing it so you’re comfortable
✅Hate my music so bring in your own headphones to listen to music or a meditation that you love
✅Do better in silence? I’ve got ear plugs for you!

That’s all I can think of for now! Really the goal is to allow your body and nervous system to relax so it can shift to find its balance again. If you have any questions let me know!

So what does this mean?
✨
In Chinese medicine we look at organs as energetic systems. So the kidney yang sends its warmth to the spleen which takes the food we eat and creates energy. BUT in early perimenopause the energy of the spleen and kidney yang is low meaning there is a change in what and how we metabolize food. So we may have weight gain, hot flashes, joint pain and fluctuations in mood. All of which may come from our digestion!
✨
During acupuncture we look at these symptoms and more to help balance this digestive function which in turn will decrease your perimenopause symptoms.
✨
Lifestyle support is also key! You may not be able to eat the same and by tailoring your food to support the organ systems your body will receive long term support.
✨
Let me know below which foods you think are most supportive for you at this time! It may not be what you think! 😉

The Change
✨
Perimenopause is big right now and I’ve heard it called so many things in the treatment room.
✨
Personally it’s been a challenging, enlightening and oddly enough rewarding time.
✨
So how am I supporting myself and patients during this stage of life? I promise none of us are going crazy even if it feels like it sometimes. I’m not great at posting but I’ll try and share more. And as always feel free to reach out with questions!

The biggest request that came up when chatting about reintroducing my newsletter was…..
✨
Acupuncture for hormonal health. And this had me jumping for joy! Acupuncture works beautifully for cyclical hormonal symptoms, peri-menopause and menopause.
✨
The intent with needling is a clear message for the body. Leading to improved pain, menstrual flow and symptoms. The list of symptoms is long and can include nausea, vertigo, joint pain, body inflammation, insomnia, anxiety, low mood, irritability and so much more.
✨
If you have questions or need some support reach out I’m just a message away 😊

Hi everyone! It’s been a long time since I posted on here. I’m still here working on supporting people with acupuncture and all that it brings. Lately though I’ve wanted a different way to show up than what can be done with these posts. Connection and community are really important and I’ve struggled distilling information down into these quick forms.
✨
So just wondering if I should restart my newsletter? It would be sent out 3-4 times a year. The intent would be to share information about acupuncture and the common themes I see in the treatment room. Empowering you with more information about your health and well-being in actionable ways. How does this sound? Would you read it?
