Our toothy chairman, Taibhse, is getting ready for Halloween by posing as his favourite band!

Can you guess the name of the band?

The winner gets the satisfaction of being right!

It’s hockey season- and that means it’s time for a new mouthguard!

Key Benefits of Wearing a Mouthguard during contact sports
Shields Teeth from Severe Trauma: Mouthguards act as a cushion to absorb and redistribute shock from direct impacts. This prevents common dental emergencies such as fractured, chipped, loose, or completely knocked-out (avulsed) teeth.
Protects Oral Soft Tissues: A mouthguard covers the sharp edges of the teeth, acting as a physical barrier. This dramatically reduces the risk of cutting or bruising the lips, gums, tongue, and cheeks during an impact or accidental biting.
Reduces Jaw Fractures and Joint Strain: By separating the upper and lower jaws, mouthguards absorb forces that would otherwise travel directly into the jawbone. This helps prevent jaw fractures and reduces long-term stress on the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
Mitigates Concussion Risks: By stabilizing the lower jaw and acting as a shock absorber during violent lower-jaw impacts, mouthguards can help reduce the force transmitted to the skull, lessening the severity or risk of concussions.
Prevents Damage from Teeth Clenching: Many athletes naturally grind or clench their teeth during stressful, high-intensity moments. A mouthguard reduces this pressure, preventing premature wear and tear.
