Is a 70-year-old’s baseline profile the same as a 50-year-old’s? 🛑

When looking at data, age and timing change everything. The famous 2002 panic completely left out a critical piece of the puzzle: the Timing Hypothesis.

When you look at individuals who look at supportive routines early in their transition versus decades later, the long-term trends look completely different. 📊

It's time to look at modern numbers, not outdated panic.

You started estrogen partly because menopause made everything feel… dry.

And then you read the patch label:

“May make sontact lenses uncomfortable to wear.”*👀

Wait. WHAT?

There’s a reason this warning is on some estrogen labels. Hormonal changes can affect the tissues and tear film of the eye, and estrogen therapy may also be associated with changes in corneal curvature.

And the research on whether HRT ultimately helps or worsens dry-eye symptoms is still mixed.

So no, it's not as simple as “more estrogen = more moisture.”

If your contacts suddenly feel uncomfortable or your vision changes after starting HRT, don't just push through it. Get your eyes checked and mention the estrogen you're using.

If you wear contacts, did you notice a change after starting HRT? 👇

Was the 2002 midlife health scare a scientific mistake… or a flat-out misrepresentation? 🛑

In 2002, a single headline terrified millions of people into throwing away their supportive care routines overnight. But the media left out the most important part of the data.

They took a study done on an older demographic in their 60s and 70s and applied the risks to healthy 50-year-olds.

The real numbers? The absolute risk increase for specific health concerns was less than 1 in 1,000 people per year. For individuals on the primary component alone, the risk actually statistically decreased.

It’s time to separate 25-year-old panic from modern science. Watch to see how the numbers were spun. 🧵👇

Ever have a day that starts out completely normal… and then suddenly you’re irritated by EVERYTHING?

That was me at the mall.

Crowds → impatience → internal rage → pounding heart → sweating → “I need to get out of here.” 😳

And the most frustrating part? I was expecting to have a really good day.

Perimenopause anxiety and irritability can show up in ways that feel completely out of character.

Has this ever happened to you?

PERIMENOPAUSE IS EXPENSIVE ENOUGH. NOW THIS?! 😂😭

I'm just trying to get enough protein to maintain my muscle, support my strength, and get through this stage of life… and apparently my protein powder has decided to join the fuel price crisis.

A DOUBLE price increase?! Excuse me?! 🤯

Ladies, we're trying to keep our muscles AND our money. Can we catch a break? 😂

You know you're in perimenopause when McDonald's Monopoly brings you JOY. 😂🍟

Brain fog? Collect it.
Hot flashes? Add it to the board.
A full night's sleep? STILL WAITING FOR THAT PIECE. 😩

Honestly, I'm just trying to collect all the pieces and get my sanity back.

Fellow perimenopausal ladies… if you find the sticker for uninterrupted sleep, PLEASE let me know. I'll trade you my last shred of patience. 😂

Today I start HRT.

And honestly? I’m excited. Nervous, too.

I’m excited about the possibility of finally getting some relief from those wildly anxious moments that seem to come out of nowhere.

But I’m also thinking… what if it doesn’t work for me?

I talk a lot about the science of perimenopause, the symptoms, nutrition, fitness, and everything in between.

But this is different.

This time, I’m not just talking about HRT.

I’m starting it myself.

I’ve done the research. I know HRT is a personal decision, and I know there are women who choose it and women who don’t. This isn’t me telling anyone what they should do.

It’s me sharing what happens when *I* make this choice.

I want to share the good, the bad, and yes… even the ugly.

Because when I was researching HRT, I found plenty of information about the science, but far fewer honest accounts of what it actually feels like to go through the process.

So here we go.

I’m at the starting line. ❤️

If you’re on HRT, I’d love to hear about your experience. What did you notice first?

4 things perimenopause took control of this week!

You can be a person who has handled stress your whole life…

…and then suddenly feel like your nervous system has completely changed the rules.

Racing heart.
Feeling constantly on edge.
Panic that seems to come out of nowhere.

Anxiety can become part of the perimenopause experience, and for some women, that change is one of the first clues that something hormonal is shifting.

Your skin can change a LOT during perimenopause.

Drier. Thinner. Less elastic. Sometimes suddenly itchy for no obvious reason.

And while aging is certainly part of the story, changing estrogen is part of it too.

Estrogen plays a role in maintaining collagen and the structure of our skin — which is one reason those changes can feel like they happened almost overnight.

So if you've looked in the mirror lately and thought, “When did THAT happen?”…

You are definitely not alone. 😅

What was the first change you noticed in your skin?👇
