💔 **DON’T CALL IT INSPIRING. YOU DON’T SEE WHAT IT TAKES TO SURVIVE.**

Christina Applegate has been open about the reality of living with **multiple sclerosis (MS) including the pain, exhaustion, anger, and grief that can exist behind a public smile.

Her words say what so many people with chronic illness struggle to explain:

“Don’t call me inspirational for just surviving my pain. I’m not strong by choice; I’m just trying to make it through the day.”

And while Christina’s battle is with MS, that feeling reaches far beyond one diagnosis.

People living with **fibromyalgia, MS, and other invisible illnesses** know what it’s like to have their suffering turned into a story about being “strong” or “inspiring” when, in reality, they’re simply trying to make it through another difficult day.

You don’t have to be positive about your pain.
You don’t have to make your suffering inspirational.
And you don’t have to pretend you’re okay to make other people comfortable.

**Sometimes you’re not strong by choice. You’re simply surviving.** 🥹
