Nel is part of our Easter Seals Nova Scotia family and recently shared something truly beautiful — performing sign language to Sia’s song “Unstoppable.”

Her performance is a powerful reminder that ability comes in many forms and that confidence and determination have no limits.

Nel, a vibrant 26-year-old from our New Leaf Enterprises Program, lives with Cerebral Palsy. She uses a walker to get around and proudly communicates through sign language, which she’s used since she was just three years old.

At Easter Seals, we celebrate every individual’s unique strengths — and Nel truly embodies what it means to be .

Four Nursing Students from Dalhousie University completed their community placement with us over the last few weeks. During their time with us they learned about different communication methods, adaptions & accessibility tools. They experienced firsthand the positive impact programs like New Leaf have on individuals’ overall well-being and community connection. For their final project they created a Health Promotion trivia game featuring fun facts about the human body and tips and tricks for living a healthy life!
