Ooh big stretch!

Final inspection and approval from a barn cat—the pickiest client.

This Cacho Ingasso branch was the ultimate addition to this winter planter at a local stable. With its feathery structure that reminded me so much of a foal’s tail, what better place to use it than at a horse barn?

From traditional cones to the most exotic stems, it’s time to start thinking about, and booking, your winter holiday installs.

Putting aside some fall cleanup to create a floral arch for Hallowe’en instead.

A recently departed serviceberry tree forms the base of this piece, wrapped in chicken wire for stem support. Utilizing the spent blooms of limelight and pinky winky hydrangeas for the bulk of the arrangement, with added texture from dried echinacea, rudbeckia, ostrich fern, panicum, and papyrus.

Instead of tossing these spent blooms and seed heads into yard waste bags this week, they’ve been given a second life, to give my porch a glam look still fitting for spooky season.

I’m either decorating for Hallowe’en, or I’ve started to plant my subscribers’ tulips. 💐

Back for 20207 in limited supply, our four-week program is available to pre-order now.

Although I’m not a retail florist, there are often times when I need to create something a season ahead.

I needed to get some shots of a secondary style for my upcoming winter holiday workshops, but it’s still fall and sunny and mild and I refuse to have Christmas greens in my house right now. 😂

Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m extra thankful this year for the ongoing support from you all. As many of you know, Planted went on a bit of a hiatus this year.

And it was during that hiatus that I realized where my focus should have always remained—right here.

This upcoming winter season will be right back on track with holiday porch installs, and centrepiece workshops are already getting booked.

2027 will bring a focus on florals, with weddings and events at the forefront—but don’t worry, planters and workshops aren’t going anywhere. 💚

Just a little harvest haul video. ✂️

Honestly wondering what else I left off my résumé. 🤔

Cutting your flowers and foliage early in the day helps them stay hydrated—but so does all the rain we got last night. Some dark, moody foliage for tomorrow’s wedding: one stem of smoke bush for the bridal bouquet and plenty of ninebark for the arch. Limelight hydrangeas for that dusty rose colour will make up the base of the arch pieces. This really is my favourite time of year. ♥️

Just a random Wednesday at my house 💜♥️🧡

Fall workshop planning is in full swing! I’ll be at Vince’s in Sharon October 7 & 8, guiding guests as they create their own Thanksgiving centrepiece.

Tickets will be available soon, so be sure to stay tuned!

I know it’s been quiet over here for a while, but I’m so grateful to get back into the swing of things with tomorrow’s lavender & white wedding. There’s just something about this palette that I just love. 💜🤍

Although I’m currently taking a break from new bookings for wedding and event florals, fall and winter workshop updates will be happening soon!

Planter install today in Stouffville, and wanted to show this driveway border garden I did a few years ago. A row of armour stone, Veronica (I think Blue Skywalker, but truthfully can’t remember), and Northwind switchgrass (my favourite, I just planted eight at my own house) create a vertical divide between very close asphalt strips.

Although the flowers haven’t opened yet, and the grasses still have about two feet to grow, they’re looking good for early in the season.

Love to see the spaces I created once they establish. 💚
