LETS TALK EXTENSIONS…
Before working at VF, I held a belief that extensions were inherently damaging. Now, while I do still believe everyone should give their hair a break if you are a long time extension wearer every now and then, I have found a whole new appreciation for the art of extensions
THINGS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN A DAMAGING VS NON-DAMAGING INSTALL…
The quality of materials that you’re using. High quality thread, silicone lined beads to protect your hair, nylon thread for higher durability and more even tension along your row, and proper home care to support the install.
THE HAIR…
No other comments. Chefs kiss 👌
FIXING “BAD” WORK…
Except this wasn’t bad work. This is work that hasn’t been maintained properly, admittedly by the client. Installs like the one she originally had have a shelf life, and my recommendation is every 4 weeks for a move up.
AESTHETICS VS SCALP HEALTH
This isn’t just a matter of transforming the look of the extensions, this is about potentially creating bald spots due to tension alopecia from going too long in between appointments
THIS IS NOT THE CLIENTS FAULT
This is a faultless tragedy 😅 when you genuinely aren’t sold the importance of what maintenance appointments mean for the hair on your scalp (or lack there of) or if your schedule doesn’t consistently line up with your stylist, if looks of the extensions is the only concern it can be so easy for them to be at the bottom of the priority list.
WANT VS NEED…
When you take out your extensions, it’s okay to want them back in. It’s a problem to feel like you need them because the breakage from them is so extreme that you can’t handle it
THE FOIL PULL…
Cause duh. Look at that
CONSULTS AVAILABLE FOR EXTENSIONS
If you have any questions about extensions or you have always been curious, or if you have always been like me and been a little bit of a hater, book in now so I can convince you why you shouldn’t be anymore
