This is what’s possible when we normalize periods for young boys at home: compassion, support, and people who know that the stigma is the only abnormal thing here!
We love this sweet commercial by Stayfree Pads – from Rohan’s readiness to support his mother to the calm and respectful way he hears out his friends’ concerns, allowing them to confront and unlearn the stigma they’d internalized.
Talking about periods openly, proactively, and factually is key to bringing up a generation of allies like Rohan: who view menstruation as the normal fact of life that it is and don’t hesitate to help out a loved one on their period.
The Period Purse exists to make those conversations easy and effective.
Whether you’re a parent who’d like tips on how to talk about periods at home,
an educator who’d appreciate some external support with the menstruation lesson,
a community group looking to promote menstrual health & literacy,
we have a series of period workshops and learning resources for you – all 100% free!
