Hey All just a quick update:
Unfortunately, the organization I so graciously chose to fundraise for has decided to try and take Equinox Essence Market that I created a market built through my own time, energy, connections, relationships, and the trust I worked hard to establish within our community.
Iโm not going to pretend that doesnโt hurt.
I feel disrespected. I feel used. And honestly, Iโm angry.
There is a big difference between collaborating with someone and taking something they created, nurtured, and brought to life because they trusted you enough to include you in it.
The Equinox Essence Market was something I poured myself into. It was never simply a name or an event date on a calendar. It was the relationships, the vendors, the community connections, the vision, the countless hours behind the scenes, and the trust that made it what it was.
So yes, this experience has left a sour taste, and for me, that market is now tainted by an experience that should never have happened.
But Iโm not going to let someone else's choices and selfishness take away my creativity or my desire to create meaningful things for our community.
If anything, this has reminded me that my ideas, my relationships, and the spaces I create deserve to be protected and respected.
So Iโm taking what I learned and moving forward.
I already have something else in the works, something that feels more aligned, more intentional, and much more me.
Iโm still finalizing the location and a few details, but once everything is confirmed, Iโll share more.
Sometimes something has to fall apart before you realize you were meant to build something completely different. ๐๐
