ABILITYscaled has relaunched its website. After ten years, we should probably reintroduce ourselves.
We’ve been a little busy developing the plot.

We began by developing services supporting greater independence for persons with disabilities.
We knew we were in for a tough fight. Forty-plus years of accumulated knowledge about disability in society had taught us to plan ahead.
So we built systems to document barriers, scrutinize decisions and keep the work moving.
A considerably more elaborate plan than crossing our fingers.
Speaking of fingers: remember those woven puzzles? Pull harder and the grip tightens.
Our accountability work follows a similar principle: resistance to transparency invites closer scrutiny.
A closed door can tell you quite a lot about the building.
Ten years on, we’re invigorated.
That foundation now drives research, publishing, consulting and legislative proposals aimed at greater control for persons with disabilities and greater accountability from institutions.
Our new website introduces the people, the work and the story behind it.
Come see what we’ve been building, and where we’re heading.

Ten years in. Still building. With quite a paper trail.
