🧠🚦 ADHD Meal Planning Breakthrough
I realized I was spending way too much mental energy trying to answer the question:
“What should I make for supper?”
By the time I got home from work, my ADHD brain was already tired from making decisions all day.
So instead of creating a traditional meal plan, I created a Traffic Light Supper System for me and my kiddo.
🟢 Green Light Meals = Survival Mode
(Cereal, toast, soup, smoothies, yogurt, cheese & crackers)
🟡 Yellow Light Meals = Quick & Easy
(Quesadillas, nuggets, frozen pizza, grilled cheese)
🔴 Red Light Meals = More Energy Required
(Spaghetti, homemade mac & cheese, tacos)
Now, instead of asking:
❌ “What should I make for supper?”
I ask:
✅ “What colour am I tonight?”
Some nights are Green.
Some nights are Yellow.
Some nights are Red.
And all of them are okay.
The biggest lesson? A smoothie, bowl of cereal, or tomato soup for supper isn’t a failure. It’s a meal.
Progress over perfection.
Fed is best. ❤️
