Downtown Gananoque Welcome to Downtown Gananoque nestled in the heart of the 1000 Islands, a beautiful historic town!

The Gananoque Business Improvement Area (BIA) is a non-profit organization, representing approximately fifty businesses and properties on King St E, in the Downtown Gananoque area. Our goal is to improve the quality of life and business in the downtown core of Gananoque from the north end of the bridge on King St E east up to Charles St only. We are dedicated to promoting a healthy economic environment through Special Events, Marketing and Beautification for our community and membership.

Community Event | Winter Lights Competition

🎄 Get your lights up and let's get creative! It's time for the annual Winter Lights Competition! The competition will run until December 23rd in which the winner will also be announced! 🎄

The Town will also be hosting our annual Winter Lights competition as part of the Festival of Lights. Residents are encouraged to decorate their homes for the holiday season, a group of local judges will pick a winner from each ward (North, South, and West) and two award will be given to the Businesses with the best window/light display. One award will be presented to a business in the downtown core and one for a business outside of the downtown area. The judges will travel through every street in Town to make sure they see every house and business.

The parade will begin at 5:30pm starting at the High School, travel the route marked on the map and ending at Town Hall Park. We heard a rumour that Santa will be hanging out in the Bandshell in Candy Cane Lane after the parade! Stop by and visit him and don’t forget your camera! 📸
