One of the most frequent struggles I hear from clients when it comes to movement is a lack of motivation.
You know you *should* exercise and that it would be good for you... but you struggle with a desire to actually do it.
If this resonates with you, here is the best way to start experiencing a change:
Think about what you consider "exercise" and your reasons for wanting to do it.
So often our story around exercise involves things that we don't enjoy. Things that we do because we have to, not because we want to. Like eating our veggies as a kid or taking a disgusting tasting cough medicine.
The second thing to consider is how do you currently try to motivate yourself to do it? Most of us have a go-to strategy of shame, guilt and punish.
Sound familiar?
WELL THEN DUH - why would you feel motivated to move your body?
Doing something you don't like and using shame basted tactics to try to make you excited to do it.
There is another way. I promise (and it is so much easier).
I was a guest on the Radian Woman Podcast with host Tarisha Tourok, where we talk about the concept of "Joyful Movement". How to tap into it and how it can improve your confidence, your relationship with your body, and feeling satisfied in your life!

How do you currently feel about exercise? What feelings do you have around it? Do you struggle with motivation?
Let me know in the comments below!
If you grew up in the 90s, you were constantly being shown a very specific body type to aspire to: thin, white, straight. As a woman, your worth was directly tied to being seen as attractive by men.
So - it's no wonder that you are still struggling with the urge to people-please and feel stuck in a cycle of weight loss obsession, failed diets, guilt, and self-blame. It's hard to not worship thinness as the answer when that is what you were taught to believe growing up.
It is NOT your fault.
It took me years to unlearn these messages and define for myself what it means for me to feel good in my body, what healthy looks like and how to show up in my life with self-love energy!
Now I want to help you do the same (only much faster since I can teach you what I learned along the way!)
So I'm sharing my FREE guide on How to Embrace the Body You Have (rather than planning to love the body you want) with 3 tips on how you can start to feel better right now!

If you are feeling stressed about food today, here are a few steps you can take to change your energy.
Sit in a comfortable position.
Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Put your hands gentle on your belly.
Take a few big deep breaths. Feel your belly rise as you inhale and feel your belly fall as you exhale.
When you are ready, ask yourself the question - what is my body trying to tell me today? Am I ready and able to listen?
Allow yourself to keep breathing as you feel the answer to that question.
If you are hungry, please find something to eat!
If you need support, send me a DM and we can talk.
You can do this. Your body is awesome. You deserve to eat.
Sending so much love your way, dear friend.
If we haven't met yet - Hi! 👋
My name is Courtney and my passion is helping women ditch diet culture, find joy in movement and finally figure out how to love their body.
I started Loyobo FIT because I learned through my own journey just how broken the fitness and health industries are. How the model that the fitness industry presents to us as the answer keeps us stuck and feeling worse. 🤦♀️
It's not just about "exercising more and eating less". And believe me - I tried that. Just like I am sure that you have, too. It doesn't work!
👉 Because loving your body isn't about how you look, how much you weight, or what dress size you wear.
It is about seeing your worth and, especially as women, celebrating that we are MORE than our bodies and that it is okay to take up space in your life!
So if you are struggling to accept your body, if you want to learn how to really have FUN with movement, if you want to heal from your aches and pains, and feel confident in your skin,
Send me a DM with the word "EMBRACE" and I will send you a link to my guide on How to Embrace the Body You Have (Rather Than Planning to Love The Body You Want).
It is my free gift to you to help you you get started, to step out of the diet and shame spiral, and see what is possible when you learn how to trust your body.
And if you are a proud member of the sh*! show too, leave me an emojii in the comments below!!!
This week, a man named Dr. Jordan Peterson commented on a recent cover of Sports Illustrated magazine featuring Yumi Nu - a plus sized model.
His response? "Sorry. Not beautiful. And no amount of authoritarian tolerance is going to change that."
So - I felt this reminder was exceptionally appropriate to post today.
You do not owe anyone beauty.
You do not need to be "beautiful" or seen as "attractive" by others to be worthy of love, kindness and respect.
Don't comment on other people's bodies.
Whether you know them personally or not.
Whether you have good intentions (or mean it as a compliment) or not.
And finally - when you notice a judgmental thought pops into your head... practice using your self-talk to challenge it. What story are you telling yourself about their body? What does this mean about your own? What assumptions are you making and is fatphobia playing a role?
You cannot learn to love yourself and feel good in your body, while also spending time hating the bodies of other people.
So - let's have an honest conversation below. Do you struggle with this? Is it something you are working on? Do you want to know more about how to handle body talk or comments?
Let me know below!
(And if you want to see the Twitter exchange I am referring to, you can check it out here: https://twitter.com/RepresentPledge/status/1526351826701889536)
So I was feeling inspired by @thebirdspapaya and @everybodyonstage -so I thought I'd try to start a new dance trend...
My socks had other plans. I totally slipped and fell into the door at the end - but it was too good not to post!
I hope you try it out! Celebrate your jiggles, fold, wiggles and your deliciously juicy body.
(And maybe take off your socks when you do it...) 🤦♀️🧦🤣
If you struggle with binge eating, a step to healing your relationship with food is creating feelings of safety and stability.
Our bodies are incredible adaptors and do what they need to do in order to keep us alive. This means that if your body thinks that food will not always be available, you will feel an urge/need to eat as much as possible when it IS available (because it is uncertain when food will be available again).
Food Scarcity happens when your body has not had unconditional access to food in your life. This can be caused by:
Dieting mentality, periods of restriction
Socioeconomic status - growing up in a lower income household or struggling to afford food
Growing up with siblings (where you had to fight for your share of the food)
Being denied food growing up or having restrictions/rules placed on the food you ate (being monitored)
When you start to feel the urge or feelings of scarcity/food insecurity, start by taking a few big deep breaths and use calming affirmations such as:
🍄 I am safe.
🥑 There is enough food for me to eat, feel satisfied and nourished.
🍕I am in control and can choose a new story. These thoughts are not true for me in this moment.
And, as long as another diet * might* be around the corner, this mindset will continue to exist - so it is important to DITCH THE DIET MENTALITY.
Which of these mantras is your favourite?
Let me know in the comments below!
Here is the truth about how your 🧠 works - Food Restriction causes Food Obsession.
When you deny your hunger, resist your cravings, or try to adhere to a strict set of food rules, it is going to make you want that food even more intensely!
Researchers call this "Diet Backlash" and it means that 49% of dieters experience post-dieting binges.
So, if you feel obsessed or out of control when it comes to food - here are 3 things you can do instead:
Take a few big deep breaths. 😌 The shame and guilt spiral causes your body to go into stress-mode. Remind yourself you are safe and everything is okay (even if it doesn't feel okay right now in the moment).
Get curious! 🤓 Try to ask questions with the goal of understanding what is happening in your body. How do you feel? What do you need? What is your body telling you?
Use your self-talk to challenge diet culture. 🥰 Food is not your enemy. This is not about willpower. Food rules don't work. You are allowed to eat when you are hungry.

And I'd love to know - what is your favourite food? One that brings you and your body joy? Let me know in the comments below!
Headlines this week made me pissed. Hearing Kim brag about her weight loss and how it was celebrated as a big achievement.
This woman makes money by making you feel shame about your body (literally - she sells weight loss products and has a shapewear line). 🤦♀️
She profits because she makes you believe that you should be trying to make your body look like that, too.
Let's be clear - losing 16 pounds in 3 weeks is harmful to your body. This is not what healthy looks like and its time we stop normalizing that this kind of weight loss is needed for big events and special days.
I felt the pressure when I was shopping for my wedding gown in 2019. I felt it leading up to the actual day. And I'm sure many of you have felt it, too.
Buy clothing that fits. Period.
What matters is that you feel comfortable and confident, able to move and live your life!
Your body is good. It's okay if your body doesn't look like a Kardashian. You are worthy at ANY clothing size.
The rest is bull💩.

Have you ever tried using the "AND" strategy?
It can really help to open up opportunities to move through fear and anxiety!
When you have an anxious thought or fear, follow it another statement that can also be true!
You can be afraid AND you can still move forward.
Try it in the comments below. 👇👇👇
What's an AND statement you can use in your life right now?
April is Stress Awareness month - so we are tackling some big topics with the goal of helping you feel better, both in your body and in your life.
This is Part 3 of our three part series examining the ways in which Diet Culture contributes to feelings of STRESS & OVERWHELM! 😬
In Parts 1 & 2 I share how Diet Culture contributes to your stress, and now I wanted to share what you can start to do about it!
👉 The first step is awareness: trying to be present and notice when these thoughts are creeping in and identify where diet culture is showing up in your life. From there, you can begin to challenge those thoughts and choose a different path forward.
To help you do this, I wanted to share a FREE resource to help you get started - our Loyobo Thought Journal. ✍️💜 It is a document that guides you in working through thoughts, determining if they are true and exploring what else might be possible.
It is a way to get unstuck (quickly!) and if you use it overntime, you can start to build your self-talk muscles to create a new way of thinking/feeling/looking at your body.

This is the magic that we do at Loyobo FIT!
Starting in May, we are introducing WEEKLY group coaching calls for our members to teach you how to understand diet culture, to work through negative thoughts and self-talk, and how to choose love, see your worth, and shift your perspective.
You can connect with others who are on the same journey as you, through our community calls, and be reminded regularly that you are NOT alone (and don't have to figure it out on your own!).
You are not broken. This sh*t is hard (but totally worth it).
If you are ready to take the first step, send us a DM today and we can help you get started. 💌
If you are feeling stuck or frustrated, the ultimate (unpopular) truth is that you can't keep doing the same things and expect different results.
So many of us are guilty of it. You think the next diet or weight loss program will work. Or you keep playing the "When I" game...waiting for the day when you feel ready or have more free time or more money to start prioritizing your self-care.
And that day never seems to come. 🤦
Doing something different is going to seem hard. It is going to be scary. It is going to feel uncomfortable and vulnerable, with some fear and anxiety along with it.
It is SO MUCH easier to just keep feeling frustrated (even though it sucks).
👉 But - if you aren't willing to try something different then you have to accept that you will never feel differently. And I don't know about you - but I hate the sound of that!
So I really hope you take this as a call to action, a sign that NOW is the time to take the first step.
Don't spend another day trying the same things that have not worked for years of your life.
💜 Join me from April 25-29 to Change How You Feel About Your Body.
Do the uncomfortable work of facing your truth, understanding your story, and letting that 💩 go!
And feel the amazing transformational results that can happen when you embrace an anti-diet approach, when you have the tools and strategies for changing how you talk to yourself and get clear on how to choose LOVE so you can start feeling awesome in your body.
Tomorrow is the last day to sign up.
Choose something different this month - choose YOU.
I hope to see you there, Click the below to join in! 👇

April is Stress Awareness month - so we are tackling some big topics with the goal of helping you feel better, both in your body and in your life.
This is Part 2 of our three part series examining the ways in which Diet Culture contributes to feelings of STRESS & OVERWHELM! 😬
🧬Diet culture ignores genetics (which creates shame and self-blame).
The reality is that even if we all ate the same and did the exact same exercises, our bodies would look different. That is the beauty of genetics! But diet culture ignores it and creates the expectations that our bodies CAN and SHOULD be able to achieve a very narrow body ideal of what "healthy" looks like.
When we blame ourselves and feel ashamed of our bodies, WE GET STUCK. This is what we refer to as the Diet Cycle. You feel ashamed of your body so you look for solutions (diets, weight loss programs, etc.). It doesn't work the way you want it too. You feel bad and shame yourself for your failure (and how your body looks). So, you start looking for more answers.
This cycle is STRESSFUL (physically, mentally and emotionally)!
And you may be SO USED to all the pressure of diet culture and living under these expectations... you might not even realize how much it is constantly stressing you out, adding to your overwhelm, or creating all of these expectations for how your life is "supposed" to look like or what you are "supposed" to be doing.
So... what can you do about it?
Stay tuned for Part 3 where I will share a FREE resource to help you start to break the cycle and choose a different pathway forward (one based on love and feeling WORTHY in your skin!).

How many phrases like this did you hear growing up?
Or how many are you guilty of repeating?
Diet culture has taught you to worship thinness. You have been told, over and over again, that your body is broken and cannot be trusted. So, a lot of the language that you use, the way that you talk to yourself, your current norms and ideals will reflect that.
It is true for the people around you, too. What you read, watch, or scroll through on Instagram.
If you want to truly start feeling differently about yourself and your body, a key step is developing a new kind of language that is based on the idea that your body is trustworthy, that you know what is best for you, and creating your own definition of what it means to be happy, healthy, and successful.
Which might feel completely foreign or uncomfortable at first (especially if you have never been shown how to do it!)
When you trust your body, your language centers around a loving sense of curiosity and exploration, of asking questions about your needs and listening inward (which means sometimes tuning out the outside noise).
It means instead of "I feel lazy tonight", you choose "I feel tired, what do I need to recharge my batteries and rest?".
Instead of "I've been bad with my food choices lately", you choose "How did this food make me feel? Did I enjoy it? I am learning more about what food works best for me (even when it doesn't go super well!)"
This is the type of work that creates real transformation. No more yo-yo diets, no more struggle, no more weight loss obsession.
And I want to help you get started.
Unlocking Your Potential is my NEW 5 Day Challenge to Change How You Feel About Your Body .
Where you will learn how to start shifting your language away from self-shame, and blame, to create a new relationship with your body - one based on love, trust, and an unshakeable belief in your own self-worth.

A few reminders in case you need it today. 💜
Something that gets me really fired up is talking about how fashion sizes AND medical research ignore the experience of women (especially black women).
It means that when you feel badly about yourself because clothing doesn't fit or feel like you want it to, or when a medical professional prescribes "losing weight" as a cure-all, you are holding yourself to a set of expectations that ARE NOT REAL.
Your body is good.
Health is NOT equal to weight.
Clothes are meant to fit YOUR body, not the other way around.
I want to help you step out of struggle or feeling obsessed with weight loss. To feel confident in your skin and to be able to define what health means for YOU (and what works for your body).
It is why I created the Unlocking Your Potential - 5 Day Challenge to Change How You Feel In Your Body, which starts April 25, 2022.
It will help you:
💜Understand the story you are telling yourself about your body and the meaning you are creating around your weight or body size.
💜Understand the influence of diet culture and how the language you use impacts your self-esteem.
💜Learn tools and strategies for challenging negative self-talk and weight stigma.
💜Create a clear vision of the relationship you want to have with your body and actions that you need to take to get there.
Best of all - it is only $27+hst to join.

The best way to fight back against outdated standards is to stop trying to use them to determine how you "should" live your life.
Let's create something new, together.
How old were you when you first started hating your body?
If you are like me, it has probably been a lifetime of insecurities, feeling not good enough, and constantly feeling like a struggle.
It doesn't have to be that like! In a world that wants you to hate your body. Where you will always be too much or not enough, you can choose to be a rebel. You can choose love, self-acceptance, and an unshakeable belief in your own self-worth.
You can learn how to take up space unapologetically and spend your time building a life that you LOVE, rather than worrying about what you look like or how much food you ate today.
It is why I created my * NEW* Unlocking Your Potential - 5 Day Challenge to Change How You Feel About Your Body .
This challenge is designed for you to:
Understand the story you are telling yourself about your body and the meaning you are creating around your weight or body size.
Understand the influence of diet culture and how the language you use impacts your self-esteem
Learn tools and strategies for challenging negative self-talk and weight stigma
Create a clear vision of the relationship you want to have with your body and actions that you need to take to get there.
This is about taking your power back and feeling the way YOU want to feel in your body. It is about your ability to find JOY, to feel connected, and confident in your skin. To help you tap into your inner magic and hit the reset button so you can embrace some self-love this Spring.
Best of all - it only costs $27+hst to join.
Registration is open until April 22. Will you be joining me?
Don't waste any more time feeling like you are not enough.
It is 5 days. You deserve to try.
Why?
Because you are too awesome to waste another year hating your body.

Affirmations are one of my favourite ways to help shift your mindset, body image, confidence and self-talk.
Did any of these affirmations resonate with you?

It can be really hard to let go of the desire to lose weight.
Being in a smaller body comes with privileges in our society and can make life easier. You get a lot of validation and praise - but it doesn't mean you will feel "healthier" and it WON'T change your relationship with your body (especially if you are constantly shaming and judging yourself).
And - if you have been focused on weight loss for years (or decades!), it can be a hard habit to break.
But it IS possible to find a new way of thinking about your body and your health goals.
Start by asking:
What does weight loss mean to me? What does it symbolize? What benefits do I think it would bring to my life?
Then, take some time to reflect on your answers:
Are all my answers true? Would anything else help me feel that way in my life? What else may be true or possible instead?
And finally, try taking weight out of the picture.
How do I want to feel in my body? What do I want to be able to do in my life? What makes me feel my best?
March is National Nutrition Month, so we are sharing lots of posts to show you how to start healing your relationship with food and trust your body. Nourishment is one of the 4 pillars of our Self-Love formula, because we recognize that your relationship with food, eating and your spiritual self is crucial in your self-love journey.
As our gift, this month we are sharing our FREE GUIDE where we share 5 tips on how you can start implementing the Mindful Eating approach in your life!

Do you have struggle with letting go of your weight loss goals or embracing a mindful eating approach? Let us know in the comments below! 💜
Sometimes the hardest part is being okay with where we are now.
Especially coming out of this lockdown - when the last 2 years have been filled with so many things outside of our control, so many compromises, so much loss.
So - how can you make peace with and accept where you are now? What has happened to you (and for you) over the last year (or 2)?
What do you need to do (or feel or say) to make that happen?
Getting clear with where you are now can then help you to decide what is important to you moving forward.
And it is up to you. You get to decide. No one else has the right to decide what is best for YOU and your body.
So - let me know in the comments below. What are you trying to accept or come to peace with, so that you can start to move forward this Spring?
Exciting announcement for our community!
Courtney goes live to share about our NEW Elevate Your Connection - Monthly Accountability Calls starting March 25!
This is what deprogramming from diet culture is all about. When you know better, you do better. 👈
And when you are able to accept that diets and focusing on weight loss are NOT going to make you feel the way that you want to feel in your body - that is when everything starts to change. 💕
👉 You care less about what other people think.
You feel more clear in your vision of who you are.
It becomes easier to say YES to the things you want and NO to what wastes your time.
You are able to bounce back faster after hard days or setbacks, because you understand it doesn't make you a failure (and is part of the process!)
You have more compassion for yourself (and for the people that judge you).
✨And you have a lot more FUN.
If you are ready to take back your power, to stand up against diet culture, and stop shaming and blaming yourself - join me for the upcoming session of my Love Your Body Program.
💜 I want to show you how to create a new relationship with your body based on love, respect and self-worth. To embrace pleasure, to build your confidence, and to take the stress out of self-care (for both your mental and physical health!)
Registration closes on March 23.

It's time to let go of the crap that has been keeping you small. I know you can do this. Let's make 2022 the year of feeling GOOD in your body!
The Love Your Body Program is a lot of money... let's talk about it
If you've been considering signing up for our Love Your Body program, but something is keeping you from jumping in, I might know why you're hesitating . . .
💸💰1) Investmenting in yourself can be scary (or feel outright impossible!). And - it can definitely trigger our feelings of deservedness and self-worth. "How can I justify spending that kind of money on myself?"
Here's the truth: your current yo-yo health habits, low self-esteem, and the time you spend shaming/hating your body are costing you in other ways. Whether it is the lost memories, wasted time, low productivity levels (feeling distracted) - or even just the cost of all the ways you try to avoid it or feel good enough.
This program is an investment that will really pay off - it will change how you show up in your life, your consistency, and how you feel in your body to give you a renewed sense of purpose and confidence that will benefit you, your family, and your relationships for life.
(One more thing: We are also offering a monthly payment option to make it a whole lot easier to invest - so make sure to check that out!)
👉 2) Or maybe you are hesitant to join because you don't feel ready.
You might be thinking something along the lines of "I want to do this, but once I am in better shape." or "Maybe next year once I have a bit more time to prepare..."
That little voice? It is NOT helping you (and realistically - it is ALWAYS going to be there).
Let's be real for a second - if you wait until you feel ready, there is a good chance that it might never happen. Taking that first step might feel risky, indulgent, or anxiety-provoking.
Here is my advice to you: DO IT ANYWAY.
Bravery and courage do not mean you don't feel afraid - as Brene brown explains: you cannot have courage without vulnerability. It is about feeling the fear AND taking that leap of faith.
