Hello everyone, I know it has been a while since I last posted and apologize. I have been going through some big changes personally as well as my business. 💖

There are going to be some changes in regards to my offerings.

I will no longer be offering in person Reiki sessions out of my primary location as of Sept 15th.💫

I will continue to offer this in person out of Sept Studios. Here is the link to book directly: https://septstudios.ca/treatments/book-reiki/

I will still continue to offer Reiki sessions online.

I will also continue to offer Energy Healing sessions both in person and online as well. You can book through the link in my bio or visit my website. ✨

Some other big changes you will start to see is I will be changing my branding colours. I have been sitting with this for a while and have decided to change to colours that are more reflective of me.

I had originally picked colours that were more relaxing tones and avoided colours that I liked as a few other people were using similar colours. I feel now is the time to start showing more of myself.

Some other exciting news! As some of you may know I am currently in training to become a breathwork facilitator. ✨⭐

Once I have graduated and completed all the necessary requirements, this will become part of my offerings.

Who am I?
Continuing the series 🩷

Here’s a little more about my journey…

Through my 20s, 30s, and into my 40s, I found myself still moving between belief and doubt — curious about energy, mediumship, and the unseen… while still questioning if any of it was real.

For nearly 20 years, I worked in a science-based field supporting parents of children with Autism. And even during that time, I felt pulled between two worlds—science and something deeper I couldn’t fully explain.

In 2017, my journey with Reiki began. I had been living with daily headaches for 5 years—seeing doctors, specialists, trying medications with little relief.

A colleague, who was a Reiki Master, offered me a session. I didn’t really know what Reiki was… but I said yes.

And for the first time in years, I experienced relief—even if only for a few hours. I was surprised… and yet, still a part of me doubted.

In 2019, I sustained a concussion. I leaned heavily on Western medicine for my recovery, while also being introduced to mindfulness and meditation—tools that helped ground me during that time.

I returned to work and began exploring my inner world more... learning to connect with my intuition.

But truthfully, I wasn’t consistent with my meditation. I struggled to sit with my thoughts and often judged myself for “doing it wrong.”

Then in the spring of 2021, I experienced a second, more severe concussion.

Again, I turned to Western medicine—physiotherapy, chiropractic care, vision therapy.

These helped, but they weren’t enough. I realized my healing needed to go deeper- not just physically, but mentally and spiritually.

So I began exploring other paths. I worked with a naturopathic doctor, worked with craniosacral therapy, and reconnected with Reiki.

And this is when something shifted.
By combining these approaches, my healing began to happen on a deeper level.

This path eventually led me to somatic therapy- bringing me back into my body in a way I hadn’t experienced in a very long time.

Reiki became an even more powerful part of my journey. And over time, I felt called to not only continue my own healing… but to learn how to support others.

I’m not sure how long this mini series will be… I’m choosing to follow what Spirit guides me to share 🩷

So here’s a little more about me.

I am an immigrant. My parents came to Canada from Portugal when I was just an infant, and I’ve been fortunate to call Canada home ever since. It’s something I hold deep gratitude for.

English wasn’t my first language.
I remember learning it by watching shows like Sesame Street and Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood before I even started school.

Once I did, I quickly became the interpreter for my parents—going with them to appointments, helping translate, and bridging the gap when they did not understand.

I’ve always been a sensitive person… and as a child, that wasn’t easy.
I was bullied in elementary school—for being shy, for the way I spoke. There wasn’t much acknowledgement that English was not my first language—only the pressure to assimilate.

At home, my parents encouraged me to speak English so they could learn. And over time, things did shift. By middle school,there were more people and my bullies now left me alone. My English was much better and had become my first language by this point. So I didn’t stand out as much for that reason any more.

I also became even more aware that I experienced the world… differently.
I had always had vivid dreams of future events. Family members would come to me for things I didn’t fully understand—like helping name their children or choosing dates for important moments.

At the time, none of this was explained to me. So as I grew up, into my teenage years, I turned toward what felt more logical—school, structure, and what could be proven “scientifically.”

And yet… there was always a part of me that felt there was more.
A deeper connection to Spirit.

I found myself moving between belief and doubt—curious about things like energy, mediumship, and the unseen… while also questioning if any of it was real.

Looking back now, I can see I was always receiving, always sensing, always connected—
even when I I didn’t yet have the language or understanding for it.

And this was only the beginning ✨

Who am I?

This idea came to me a couple of months ago…
but if I’m honest, I was afraid to share it.

All of these old fears of mine started rising up—
🔹 fear of being seen,
🔹 fear of being judged,
🔹 fear of not saying things "eloquently,”
🔹 fear of not being fully accepted for who I am.

So I waited. I put it off.

But the call to share this… it kept getting louder.

🩷So here I am—showing up with my fears, my imperfections, and my truth.

I feel ready to open up more.
To share who I am, what I do, and how my work has grown and evolved—just as I have.

This series is an invitation.
A way for you to get to know me more deeply, and to see the heart behind my offerings.

For those of you who are new here—my name is Maria 🤍.
I am a medicine woman, Reiki Master, Energy Healer, Channel, and Light worker.

I’m here to support women in releasing stress, reconnecting to their bodies, and restoring balance and harmony within themselves.

To gently guide others back home to who they truly are.
