Return to McMaster Oversight Committee releases final recommendations report

The information below may be of interest to our students and future students as McMaster makes plans to return to campus. The staff have been working remotely, many students have had greater professional expectations and have been balancing these as they are able more than normal. We commend everyone for all their efforts to balance and fight this pandemic. We are looking forward to what the plans for the return to campus looks like!

MHM is excited to share that student Sharia Ali was selected to present work from her scholarly paper on tomorrow at the FHS Graduate Plenary event. She will present her paper "Representation Matters: Using Critical Race Theory to Explore the Disparity between Canada’s Speech-Language Pathologist Workforce and its Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Clients."

As the Winter term finishes, students within the HM730/Scholarly paper course submit their final paper. These students select a topic of their choice and work with a Faculty Advisor through the various stages of writing to finalize that paper. One recent topic which has since been published was by Abigail Corbin: "Health leadership competencies for health leaders around the world and their application to the Canadian midwifery profession: a scoping review" Find it published in the Canadian Journal of Midwifery Research and Practice.

The Health Management program’s highest award has been renamed the “Founder’s Academic Award”. We celebrate its’ founders: Mary Law, Glen Randall, and Patricia Wakefield. It was their vision that created this interdisciplinary program for regulated health professionals to gain core management skills to help facilitate their future roles as leaders. In 2010, the DeGroote School of Business and the Faculty of Health Sciences School of Rehabilitation Science launched the Master of Health Management program.
