Our Student Massage Therapist, Josie Martens, is making a wonderful impression at Centered On Wellness!

Josie is in her final semester at Mount Royal University, and her student massage treatments are available at approximately half the cost of an RMT session until the end of December.

🍂 There’s something about warmth in the fall.

We see it in the golden leaves, the softer light, and that instinct to reach for warmth as the air cools.

In massage therapy, warmth can be more than comforting — it can be therapeutic.

Heated jade stones allow warmth to be applied gradually and consistently as the tissues are worked. This can help muscles relax, increase local circulation, and prepare the body for deeper therapeutic techniques without relying on force.

Once the tissues are warm, myofascial cupping can be incorporated with much greater ease — helping create space through the fascia, encouraging movement between tissue layers, and supporting areas that feel restricted or guarded.

This is where Hadassah’s skill really shines.

Her years of experience, continued education, and mentoring with Mike Stone of Stone College in Calgary have shaped the way she combines heat, massage and myofascial techniques into thoughtful therapeutic care.

Warm the tissue.
Work with the body.

With over eight years of experience, Holly brings a warm personality and skilled therapeutic touch to every treatment. Her approach includes deep tissue massage, myofascial cupping and Low Level Laser Therapy, tailored to support each client’s individual needs.

Thinking a massage might feel pretty good this week?

Josie, our new Student Massage Therapist, is here Fridays from 12:00–5:00 pm and is now accepting bookings.

Currently in her final semester of Massage Therapy at Mount Royal University, Josie brings her growing clinical knowledge, an athlete’s appreciation for how the body moves and recovers, and a calm, thoughtful approach to each treatment.

Student Massage Therapy is also offered at approximately half the cost of a Registered Massage Therapy session—a wonderful option if you’d like to make massage a little more regular part of caring for yourself.

Have you met Josie yet?

Josie has officially started seeing clients at Centered On Wellness, and we thought we’d share a little more about the person behind the massage table.

Josie is a lifelong High River local and is currently completing her final semester of Massage Therapy at Mount Royal University.
She’s also an athlete. After nine years of playing rugby, Josie now serves as captain of her women’s team. That experience has helped shape her understanding of strength, movement, recovery and the importance of looking after the body that carries us through everything we ask of it.

In the treatment room, Josie’s approach is thoughtful and welcoming. Her goal is to create a comfortable space where you feel listened to, respected and supported. And because these are Student sessions, massage treatments are about half the cost of an RMT.

Josie is currently available:

Fridays 12:00–5:00 pm

Meet Josie — Our New Student Massage Therapist!

We’re so happy to officially welcome Josie Martins to Centered On Wellness!

Josie is in her final semester of the Massage Therapy program at Mount Royal University, working toward becoming a Registered Massage Therapist later this year.
Born and raised in High River, Josie brings a wonderful combination of local roots, a strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in helping people feel their best. She has also played rugby for nine years and is currently captain of her women’s team—giving her a great appreciation for movement, body mechanics, recovery and taking care of the body.

Josie is now welcoming clients for Student Massage Therapy:

Student Massage Therapy is offered at approximately half the cost of a Registered Massage Therapy session, making it a great opportunity to add regular massage to your wellness routine while supporting a future RMT as she completes her education.
