How are you supposed to chase your dreams when your nervous system is stuck in survival mode?

You have the ideas, the vision.
The to do list is growing.
The expectations are piling up.
Everyone needs something from you.
And somehow, you’re supposed to find the energy to become the person you’ve always dreamed of being?

Babe, you are exhausted.

Sometimes what looks like procrastination is actually overwhelm. Adding more pressure isn’t always the answer. Sometimes we’re so overwhelmed by everything we’re carrying that even the smallest step feels more than impossible. It feels like paralysis.

What if the next step isn’t doing more? What if it’s figuring out what you can put down? Maybe it’s doing one thing for yourself. Or doing one less thing for everyone else.

One less obligation. One less unnecessary yes. One small thing that’s just for you. Make the first messy attempt. You don’t have to overhaul your entire life to begin moving toward the one you want.

Sometimes the first step forward is making a little room to breathe first. 🌿

Respectfully, my nervous system would like to file a few complaints. 🙃✋️

Because sometimes it’s not the big, dramatic things that send us over the edge. It’s the tiny, everyday inconveniences that pile up until our nervous system is like, "That’s maybe enough human interactions for today, thanks.”

Overstimulation is real. Boundaries are healthy. Learning to recognize what drains your energy just as important as knowing what fills it up.

Sometimes nervous system regulation looks like deep breathing, grounding, or slowing down. Sometimes it looks like turning off the big light, putting your phone on silent, and saying a very loving and very firm NO.

Now tell me, what sends YOUR nervous system straight to, “Respectfully, nahhhh.”

Your lymphatic system is calling. 💌☎️ She would like a little attention please.

She’s been working quietly behind the scenes, helping your body manage fluid, support immune function, and clear away cellular waste. And unlike your circulatory system, she doesn’t have a heart pumping everything along.

Instead, your lymphatic system relies on movement, muscle contractions, and breathing to keep things flowing.

ENTER: Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage

This gentle, rhythmic treatment is designed to encourage the natural movement of lymphatic fluid throughout your body helping with a whole heap of benefits.

🌿Reduce puffiness and fluid retention
🌿Support healthy lymphatic circulation
🌿Ease swelling
🌿Encourage deep relaxation
🌿Give your body a moment to slow down and receive some care
🌿Support your body’s natural cleanup process.

Curious about Manual Lymphatic Drainage? Come experience a little love for the system that’s always working behind the scenes.

A little gratitude for this wild, wonderful thing called life.

Not because every day is easy or everything is perfect or because it is Thanksgiving. But because somewhere between the chaos, the healing, the growing, and the becoming, there is still so much beauty to be found.

Here’s to noticing the little things. The ordinary magic. The moments that remind us how good it is to be alive. Grateful for it all. 🤎🧡

Lately, I’ve been reminding myself to be a little more patient with me.

I can’t rush my way through healing. I can’t expect every day to feel like progress, and I definitely can’t measure my growth by how “together” I feel.

Some days I feel grounded and dialled in. Other days, I’m tired, tender, or finding myself back in places I thought I’d already moved through.

But healing isn’t linear. 🌿

Maybe going backwards isn’t really going backwards at all. Maybe it’s just another opportunity to meet myself with a little more love and kindness.

So… this is my reminder to myself:
Slow your roll.
Give yourself some grace.
You’re allowed to take your time.

I’m still becoming. And that’s okay. 🤍

Hi friends, I’m Alysia. 🖤

I am the owner and practitioner at Uwila Wellness. I thought it was probably time for a little reintroduction, as we have a few new friends who have joined us.

I’m a mama bear of two wild and adventurous boys, a lover of beauty, ritual, nature and spirituality. I’m endlessly fascinated by the body, energy, the unseen, and all the strange and beautiful ways we move through this life.

And I absolutely love this time of year. 🎃👻

Give me rich colours, candlelight, skulls, changing leaves, a little witchy weirdness, and I’m very much in my element. Our house is basically a year-round celebration of spooky season.

But my love of the darker, stranger side of things goes deeper than an appreciation for Halloween.

I’ve always been drawn to the symbolism of death, transformation and the underworld — not as something to fear, but as a reminder that life is constantly asking us to shed, change and become.

We outgrow identities. We release old patterns. We leave behind versions of ourselves that once made sense. Sometimes we’re gently nudged into something new, and sometimes life throws us straight into the underworld and says, “Good luck down there.”

I think there is so much beauty in that process.
It’s a big part of why I do the work I do at Uwila.
I want to create a space where you can slow down, reconnect with yourself and your body, and make room for whatever is ready to shift — without needing to have it all figured out.

For me, healing isn’t always about fixing something.

Sometimes it’s about listening.
Sometimes it’s about releasing.
Sometimes it’s about remembering who you were before you became who you thought you had to be.
And sometimes, it’s simply about coming back home to yourself.

That’s the kind of space I’m always trying to create at Uwila.

A little beautiful. A little grounded. A little mystical.
And just the right amount of weird. 🖤

Do you feel it?

The hum.
The shift.
That little something you can’t quite put your finger on.

We’re constantly surrounded by energy — from the seasons changing to the weather shifting, to the people and spaces we move through every day.

And just like nature has its rhythms, so does your body.

Sometimes it whispers.
Sometimes it tugs.
Sometimes it practically bangs pots and pans until you pay attention.

That feeling in your chest.
The tightness in your shoulders.
The sudden need to move, rest, cry, get outside, or simply be still.

Your body is always communicating.
The question is: are you listening?

Slow down.
Take a breath.
Feel your feet on the earth.

You don't have to have all the answers. Sometimes wellness begins with simply noticing what your body has been trying to tell you. 🌿

A little reminder to get out of your head and into the world. 🌿

Toes in the earth.
Fingers in the soil.
Dancing in the rain.
A deep breath under a big sky.

You don't always need to do more. Sometimes you just need to go outside and remember you're a living, breathing human. 🤍

A moment to pause. A moment to listen. 🧡

Today we honour the children who never came home, survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities who continue to carry their impacts.

May we make space for truth, keep learning, and remember that reconciliation is not just something we acknowledge—it’s something we continue to work toward.

🧡 Every Child Matters.

Maybe healing doesn't always have to be so… clinical. 👀

And before anyone panics — no, we're not telling you to ditch your doctor. We love modern medicine. Truly.

But there are other ways to support yourself, too. Sometimes it's movement, touch, breath, energy, rest, connection — or simply getting out of your head and back into your body.

Because your body isn't just a problem to solve. It's a relationship to reconnect with.

So consider this your permission slip to get curious, try a different route, and see what happens when you give yourself a little more space to release, reconnect, and heal.

Your body might actually have a few things to tell you. 😉
