October is breast cancer awareness month.

This is also a month for raising awareness about overall breast health.

Take today to open a discussion with the females in your life about the importance of early detection and doing routine self exams.

As a pelvic physio that specializes in Women's Health, I have had many patients with breast cancer tell me the ONLY reason they caught the cancer was because they were diligent with their own routine SELF breast exams.

I challenge you to put a sticky note on your shower door to remind yourself to examine yourself the next time you have a shower!

September is sexual Health
Month.

Pelvic floor muscle health is necessary for optimal sexual health.

I love ASHA's definition of S*xual Health which states "we believe S*xual Health must go BEYOND traditional views of simply avoiding disease or unplanned pregnancy and should include experiencing PLEASURE and
INTIMACY when desired along with respecting the sexual rights we all share."

S*x education in school often focuses more on the FEAR of STI’s and pregnancy.

I'm passionate at helping all genders regain a sense of positivity, pleasure and sensuality in their bodies.

If you are ready to boost your sexual health then book an appointment at Kare Physio with one of our highly trained pelvic floor physiotherapists.

This is NOT something you have to live with.

I get so frustrated when patients tell me their doctor said they have to live with this condition.😡

This is not true!

Queeting is commonly reported during yoga, exercise classes or during physical activity.

Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy is an effective solution for va**nal flatulence or queefing.

Have you stopped bike riding or limited the length of your rides due to saddle sores, skin irritation, ge***al swelling, numbness or p***c bone/ sit bone pain?

These complaints are common, especially in female recreational and professional cyclists.

But you don't have to suffer or stop riding!

Purchased numerous saddles hoping to find the perfect one? It’s not only about the saddle style.

Pelvic Physio treatment can address a lot of these issues.

Optimal pelvic muscle tone, vulvar tissue health and boney support can all assist pressure distribution on the bike saddle.

DM me if you have any questions about how Pelvic Physio can maximize your comfort and performance on your bike this summer.

Your core didn't just "get weaker" after baby.

It changed shape, function, and its pressure system — and no amount of random crunches fixes that on its own.

Before you roll out that Pilates mat again, let's check what's actually going on in there.

Core activation, deep abdominal strength, breath-to-brace connection — it all matters before you load it back up.

A pelvic floor + core assessment isn't extra.

It's the missing first step.

Leaking urine during double unders, box jumps and during high intensity crossfit exercise is common but NOT necessary.

Do you have to p*e before your workout or several times during your workout?💦

This is a sign that your pelvic floor and core muscles are struggling to manage pressure.

Your pelvic floor is one of your MOST important core muscles.

DM me or comment below if you are curious how pelvic physiotherapy can help optimize your workouts.

Women experiencing decreased estrogen levels after the age of 50 are at higher risk for gluteal tendinopathy or what many people refer to as "hip bursitis".

This pain on the side of the hip can be excruciating and is more common in females especially after the age of 50.

Estrogen has a role in Type 1 collagen turn over. Less estrogen means tendons become less elastic, less resilient and more prone to injury.

This is also why many pre and post menopausal women complain of other areas of pain in their body like plantar fasciitis and rotator cutt tendonitis as they age.

The pelvic floor muscles work with our hip rotators and gluteal muscles.
Seeing a pelvic floor physio can help with frustrating hip pain.

Send me a message or comment below if you are curious how pelvic floor muscle treatment can help with chronic hip pain.
