Today, I share the obituary of Gerry, lovingly known as “Pops,” who passed away peacefully on Monday.

Although Gerry came into Carrie and Michelle’s lives only nine years ago, he quickly became so much more than a stepfather. He brought an incredible amount of joy, laughter and love into their lives and, in many ways, into ours at Light Touch, too.

The three of us are a little family of our own here at the clinic, and because of that, the people we love become part of Light Touch in ways that are hard to put into words. Gerry was one of those people.

I had the privilege of knowing and loving him myself, and I will always be grateful for the warmth, humour and little bit of sparkle he brought with him. He had a way of making life brighter simply by being in it.

My heart is with Carrie, Michelle, their Mother Darlene and their families as they navigate the loss of a man who meant so much to them and to all of us who were lucky enough to know him.

Rest peacefully, Pops. You will be deeply missed.
