Clarity regarding this year's immunization campaign.

It's that time of year again, with Flu and COVID vaccines making their way to our community and appointments being booked. This year's campaign started on October 12th and is expected to last until December, although doses usually remain available all winter for later inquiries.

Since there is confusion around how to secure appointments, we'll shed some light on the process here.

1. Invites get sent via text or email in order of priority. To ensure higher risk individuals receive doses as early as possible, please wait for your invitation ahead of booking an appointment.

2. To book an appointment, follow the link or phone number provided in the invite. That number is 1-833-838-2323. You can select or request to book an appointment at your desired location in Keremeos or neighbourgh community.

3. It is worth noting that we can only create enough appointments to reflect our current supply. If, during the booking process, nothing appears available, it will indicate that all our supply is already allocated and we are awaiting more stock before scheduling more appointment times. It might take a few days, maybe a week, between shipments, so check periodically.

4. RSV is not a seasonal vaccination but a single vaccination over a lifetime. While invites have reached most eligible individuals at once, supply will be slow to arrive in the community. When you come in for your seasonal vaccination, ask if we have RSV vaccines. If we do, we'll be happy to provide them to eligible individuals. If we do not, inquire in a few weeks or months later.

Hoping to have shed some light on this year's campaign!

Stay healthy this season.

You might not be aware of it, but LSCSS's shuttle has been operating for well over a year. If you or someone you know have unmet transportation needs, help us identify what those are by filling out a short survey. Your responses will help shape the future of the Shuttle service.

Today, September 30th, is the day of Truth and Reconcilliation. While this journey is important year long, today sets aside time in our busy schedules to reflect and act towards a safer future for all. Today, I will be attempting to unravel a little bit more of the past by exploring resources and Calls to Action available. I hope you do the same, wherever you are along this journey.
