Homemade Chicken Broth

In the winter months nothing is better than a nice warm bowl of comforting soup. Homemade chicken broth is a great base for a number of soups and we have the perfect recipe for you.

Ingredients:
2 lbs (1 kg) chicken bones
2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
2 stalks of celery with leaves, diced
2 large carrots, rinsed and diced
1 large onion, diced
1 stalk of leek, of which the white part, finely sliced
3 cloves of garlic
5 black peppercorns
5 sprigs of fresh thyme
½ bunch of fresh parsley
1 bay leaf

Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Brown the bones on a tray lined with baking paper for about 30 minutes.

Cover the bones in a braising pan with a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water and let them simmer for 30 minutes.

Boil the broth vigorously over high heat, then immediately reduce the temperature to a gentle simmer. Skim off any foam that may form.

Add vegetables and herbs and simmer everything for at least 6 hours or up to 48 hours.

Fill up with water so that the solid ingredients are always just covered.

Pour the broth through a fine sieve lined with a cheesecloth, squeezing out the solid ingredients as best you can.

To cool, place the drained broth in an ice bath for 2 hours. Use the broth as you wish – delicious!

Feeling sluggish after a meal?

How much, and What type of protein are you eating?

When you eat protein it’s broken down into amino acids, which are then used to help your body with various processes such as building muscle, regulating immune function, and supporting a healthy metabolism and managing weight.

Amino acids are the body’s building blocks which you are made of and should be an essential part of your food intake.

Amino acids make
👉🏼 hormones
👉🏼 enzymes (body’s spark plugs)
👉🏼 muscle tissues
👉🏼 neurotransmitters
👉🏼 transporters (delivery system)
👉🏼 cells and much more

The body cannot store amino acids, any excess is eliminated by the kidney. Which means you MUST supply the body everyday to run smoothly.

When you do you will feel:

👉🏼 energetic
👉🏼 mood stability
👉🏼 healthy digestion
👉🏼 concentration
👉🏼 immune function is optimal

Protein with every meal just makes sense.

This is definitely a misunderstanding for almost 90% of all gymgoers.

Workout as much as you want, but you’ll practically stay the same with minimal changes. 😕

And, you probably have already noticed this, because this is your strategy and you keep retaining body fat. 🤔

Why not learn how to workout and make it count? Why not learn how to eat an abundance of foods and still make progress?

Probably because you think you need to do keto, or some strict diet that sounds awful.

It doesn’t need to be either. Align your efforts and you’ll see progress sky rocket!

Have you ever tried to burn off a big meal with a crazy workout? Or restricted food because you binged?

How to eat the Metabolic Balance way!

Avocado Egg Salad

4 large eggs
1 avocado
2 tbsp real mayonnaise
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Salt and pepper to taste
Dash of smoked paprika
Romaine lettuce or spinach leaves

Hard boil eggs with your preferred cooking method, then cool, peel and chop cooked eggs.

Mashed pitted avocado with mayo, herbs, lemon juice, salt and pepper.

Add chopped eggs to avocado mixture and toss/mash to combine.

Serve egg salad wrapped in lettuce leaves or with rye bread or rye crackers.
