There are currently no doses of vaccine left at participating pharmacies in the region. When stock does arrive again, please check availability at www.ygkvax.com. We still hope to join the vaccination campaign when it expands to more pharmacies. Seniors that are 75 and over (or turning 75 this year) can still book an appointment for a vaccine at the Invista Centre through www.ontario.ca/bookvaccine or by calling 1-888-999-6488

Flu Vaccine Update:

Oct 11 - We have received a limited amount of stock. We will begin calling to book appointments this week. Currently, the list is greater than the amount of stock we received and we won't be allowed to reorder until Oct 25 so if you don't receive a call from us this week or next, you should here from us after the 25th. The number of high dose vaccines was very limited and distributed to our most vulnerable patients. We hope to have more after the 25th.

Oct 6- We have received notice that we will be receiving 20% of our doses in the higher dosage vaccine for seniors. As we expect our demand will be higher than supply for this vaccine, we will be prioritizing its use to our most vulnerable patients in the order they appear on our waiting list. The ministry has told us to expect delivery by October 19 or sooner. Once we have stock we will begin booking appointments from our waiting list. We will not be accommodating drop-in visits this season to avoid people congregating at the pharmacy. Please email or call us if you wish to be added to the waiting list. Thanks,

Allan

Thanks to Neighbours of Kingston Southwest for the feature article this month. We are very proud to have been serving this wonderful community for almost 30 years across two generations of pharmacists.

05/26/2020

We are happy to announce that we are back to full hours. 9am-6pm Mon-Fri, 9am-1pm Sat. Physical distancing and other in-store hygiene measures are still in effect. Free Prescription delivery or curbside pickup will remain available indefinitely. Thanks for all the support and words of encouragement during this crisis.

03/27/2020

I just wanted to take a moment to recognize the good Samaritan Jack, who came by the pharmacy to donate some extra masks he'd ordered for his business. He was going around to the hospital and other pharmacies donating them to protect frontline health care workers. He refused to accept any return for the masks. This is the embodiment of community. My staff, and the other health care workers these masks went to, are grateful to you Jack. You are a solid human being.

Due to the current pandemic, we will be reducing store hours where we will be open for pick ups to 10am-4pm. Deliveries will still be available after 4pm. In case of emergency, you can reach Allan at 613-453-5374. If picking up your medications, we are offering parking lot service. Just prepay your order and call us when you arrive and we will bring the medication right to your vehicle. Free delivery is also available. Thank you for your continued support.

We would like to remind all patrons that we have free prescription delivery service throughout the emergency. We strongly encourage calling in your orders by phone, email or through our website at www.reddendalepharmacy.com . We also advise paying electronically by credit card to avoid any exchange of money with the delivery person.

Due to rationing of supplies to ensure adequate resources to serve as many people as possible, we may restrict the amount dispensed during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

03/17/2020

We plan to remain open to serve the community throughout the ongoing pandemic. We encourage clients to phone or email their orders in ahead of time and use tap pay method whenever possible. We are out of sanitizer, alcohol, wipes and masks and are doing our best to get more. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Health Canada requests that companies stop distributing ranitidine drugs in Canada while it assesses NDMA; some products being recalled - Recalls and safety alerts

There have been recent reports of possible contamination of certain batches of ranitidine with NDMA. Currently only one company (Sandoz) has issued a recall. This was not a brand we have dispensed at Reddendale Pharmacy. Health Canada is investigating to see if any other manufacturers are affected. Here is a link to the latest report: https://healthycanadians.gc.ca/recall-alert-rappel-avis/hc-sc/2019/71029a-eng.php
We will keep you posted on any further developments. Feel free to call or email with any questions or concerns. Thanks,

Allan

OTTAWA – Health Canada recently informed Canadians that it is assessing the issue of an impurity called N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) detected in some ranitidine drugs. Current evidence suggests that NDMA may be present in ranitidine, regardless of the manufacturer. As a result, and at Health Cana...

This is such a great pharmacy. Service is always timely and friendly. Staff are so easy to deal with and Alan the pharmacist, is a wealth of knowledge. We have done a meds review together and it was very helpful. And with a recent summer allergic reaction, he has provided support on how to best treat it. Thank you Reddendale Pharmacy. So glad you are in our neighbourhood
Reddendale Pharmacy has been our go to Pharmacy since it opened, because we are not only well looked after health ways but also one is treated like an old friend when we drop in to pick up a prescription or to ask for advice on a particular over the counter medication. The service, professionalism and friendliness can’t be beat.
Hey; It was so good to see everyone in the pharmacy today..... feels like family :)
This is a family owned pharmacy. They bend over backward to help people. I myself have recommended this Drug Store to many people. THEY ARE THE BEST IN THE CITY. I give this family and workers 10 stars. Come in and see for yourself the great service you get. Gwen Wilkinson
