We were thrilled to welcome Pat Coutts, President, and Erin Hoyos, Executive Director, of DEBRA Canada to our Kitchener, Ontario facility last week. Their team was greeted by Biomiq’s Co-Founder & Managing Director, Rob Fuller, and Sales Director, David Whiteside.

DEBRA Canada supports people living with epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a rare genetic condition that essentially leaves skin as fragile as a butterfly’s wings.

We learned a great deal about the challenges EB families face every day, from lengthy dressing changes to the constant risk of infection. We also shared how our PureCleanse® hypochlorous acid (HOCl) solutions, made right here in Canada, offer a gentle yet effective way to cleanse delicate skin and wounds.

Our Biomiq team is excited to explore how PureCleanse® can help make wound care gentler, simpler and more effective for EB families. Thank you to Pat and Erin for their time, and for the important work DEBRA Canada continues to achieve.

What a day in Edmonton! Today, we're grateful to be exhibiting at the Western Region Skin Health and Wound Care Conference.

This year's National Nursing Week theme is already the daily reality across every care setting: 'The Power of Nurses to Transform Health'. Among many other things, nurses are the ones identifying stalled wounds, advocating for evidence-informed antimicrobial stewardship, and changing outcomes for even the most complex cases.

In celebration of International Nurses Day today (May 12), and our country's National Nursing Week this week, we're helping to call attention to a set of timely and informative events that the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA-AIIC) is hosting on the themes shaping the future of the nursing profession: Indigenous nursing leadership, politics and policy, early-career voices, specialized practice in wound, ostomy and continence care, and the evolving knowledge base of nursing itself.

Tomorrow morning at the Trauma Association of Canada Annual Conference (TAC 2026), Biomiq is presenting a panel discussion with an impressive lineup. It's called: "Trauma in the Age of Resistance: How Modern Conflict is Redefining Combat Casualty Care and Wound Management'.

Modern battlefields have changed wound care. Delayed evacuation, contaminated blast injuries, and multidrug-resistant organisms are forcing frontline teams to rethink infection control from the ground up. The lessons coming out of Ukraine are already reshaping civilian trauma practice.
