Knowing the science is one thing. Knowing what to actually DO with it? That’s another. 🧠

I’m passionate about helping OTs and other rehab professionals bridge the gap between theory and practice.

Through courses, mentorship, and practical resources, my goal is simple: help you feel more confident navigating the messy, complex, very human side of clinical care.

And don’t just take my word for it. 😉 Swipe to hear from clinicians who’ve learned with me!

In pelvic floor rehabilitation attention isn’t just awareness
👉 it’s a powerful output of and input to the nervous system.

When distress is high, attention is often driven by:

vigilance
urgency
symptom checking

But what if we can use attention as a resource to settle the nervous system and rebuild safe experiences of body sensations?

👉 From scanning → noticing
👉 From urgency → curiosity
👉 From narrow → more spacious awareness

In practice, that might look like:

keeping part of your attention anchored to the regulating inputs in the environment (sounds, sights, smells, contact with the chair, feet on the ground)

Noticing shifts in arousal and attention with increased regulation

Practicing letting sensation be present without needing to immediately respond

Somatic tracking - titrating attention towards distressing sensation with less urgency

Or simply modelling curious attention by asking “tell me more about where your attention goes in that situation?”; “what do you notice in your body? In your thoughts? In your emotions?”

BIG NEWS! 🎉 And I’ve been SO excited to share this!
My CBT and ACT courses for rehabilitation professionals are now AOTA APPROVED! 🙌

When I started developing these courses, my goal was simple: to help rehab professionals feel more confident navigating the messy, complex, human side of rehabilitation.

The thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and experiences that can make recovery so challenging.

And to make psychological approaches like CBT and ACT feel practical, accessible, and relevant to the work we do every day.

Now, you can build those skills AND earn AOTA CEUs along the way! 🎓

Whether you’re just getting started or ready to deepen your clinical skills, there’s a learning pathway for you.

A huge thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey. 💜

Pelvic health OT is often less about chasing the perfect strategy…
and more about changing the relationship someone has with their body, symptoms, routines, and daily life.

Sometimes the work looks like slowing down urgency, softening vigilance, rebuilding safety, and helping life become bigger than the symptoms again.

If you have been feeling stuck in cycles of tension, symptom-monitoring, fear, urgency, or avoidance around pelvic health symptoms, OT may be able to help.

I offer free discovery calls for individuals wondering whether this approach might be a good fit for their pelvic health journey. 🌿

When symptoms have been present for a long time, it makes complete sense that the nervous system starts fighting hard for relief.

But sometimes the pressure to fix pain can accidentally keep the nervous system locked in protection mode.

In pelvic health OT, part of the work can look like helping people gradually soften fear, vigilance, urgency, and the fight against the symptoms through repeated experiences of safety. 🌿

If you are feeling stuck in cycles of bladder symptoms, pelvic pain, tension, urgency, or symptom-monitoring, OT may be able to help.

You can book a free discovery call through my website (link in my) bio to learn more about how OT support may fit into your pelvic health or pain recovery journey.

You know that client who’s doing all the right things... following the exercises, showing up consistently but still not making progress?

Or the session where everything seems to be going fine on the surface, but something underneath feels stuck, guarded, or just... off?

There’s a reason some clients don’t respond to traditional protocols and it’s not because they’re non-compliant, unmotivated, or beyond help.
It’s because we’re often missing a critical piece: the nervous system.

Join The Trauma-Informed Lens: Why Some Clients Don’t Respond to Treatment (and What to Do Instead) ....a FREE training for pelvic health professionals ready to go deeper, think differently, and support clients in a more integrated way.

Inside this training, you’ll learn:

Why symptom-focused treatment alone often falls short
How trauma can live in the body, even when your client doesn’t name it
Practical tools to support nervous system regulation in your sessions
A framework that brings together pelvic health and trauma-informed care
A look into the Trauma-Informed Pelvic Health Certification program (welcoming new students Sept 14-18)

Whether you’re an OT or a PT, this training is for you if you’re craving more clarity, compassion, and clinical confidence when progress stalls.
WHEN: Thursday September 17th at 2 PM EST

Can’t make it live? No problem.. the replay will be sent to all who register.

🚪 DOORS ARE OPEN!

The Fall cohort of the Trauma-Informed Pelvic Health Certification Program with The Functional Pelvis is officially enrolling and if you’ve been wanting to bring trauma-informed care into your pelvic health practice in a way that feels practical, embodied, and genuinely integrated… this is your invitation.

This isn’t just about adding another checklist of techniques to your practice.

It’s about changing how you see, understand, and respond to the person in front of you.

Over the course of the program, we’ll explore the science of trauma and the nervous system alongside the practical skills that shape safer, more responsive pelvic health care including safety, consent, attunement, titration, and choice.

And you won’t be doing it alone.

✨ Learn within a supportive cohort of your peers
✨ Move through structured lessons, practices + reflection
✨ Translate the concepts into real pelvic health encounters
✨ Develop greater confidence navigating activation, distress + vulnerability
✨ Build a practice that makes room for the whole person, not just their symptoms

As past participant Lexy Martinez shared:

“This certification equipped me not only with indispensable strategies to use with my clients, but also relevant tools for my own self-care, both as a therapist and a human being.”

Spaces in the Fall cohort are limited.

Registration is open for this week only.

Come learn with us. We would love to support you!

💛Lara and Lindsey

Boom and bust isn’t just about pacing.

👉 It’s about attention.

Same activity… different attentional stance = very different outcomes.

Curiosity > urgency.
