What does breast thermography actually show? 👀

Thermography provides a physiological map of the body by using an infrared camera to visualize temperature patterns at the skin’s surface.

For breast imaging, it records the natural heat patterns across the breasts and surrounding areas, creating a visual map that can be documented and compared over time.

The appointment is non-invasive, with no contact, compression or ionizing radiation.

These temperature patterns offer a different type of information from the structural images provided by mammograms, ultrasound and MRI. Thermography does not diagnose breast cancer or replace recommended screening or diagnostic imaging.

At Thermography Clinic Kitchener, your appointment includes an RN consultation to explain your report, answer questions and help you understand your next steps.

While breast thermography is what we’re best known for, thermography can also be used to take a broader look at patterns happening throughout the body.

Depending on the area being assessed, thermal imaging may provide information about patterns related to inflammation, circulation, muscular strain, lymphatic activity and more.

We offer imaging of the:

✨ Or a combination of areas

Thermography is a physiological assessment, meaning it looks at patterns of heat and blood flow rather than the structure of the body.

New month. New reminder to check your pumpkins. 😉

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which makes today an especially good reminder to get familiar with what’s normal for your breasts.

Take a few minutes today to look and feel. Notice any changes in:

🎃 size, shape or symmetry
🎃 skin texture or colour
🎃 lumps, thickening or swelling
🎃 ni***es or unusual discharge
🎃 any new or persistent changes that just don’t feel like your normal

Breast self-awareness isn’t about looking for something scary. It’s about knowing your own body well enough to recognize when something changes.

So on the first of every month: Feel them. Know them. Advocate for them. 🧡

And if something feels different? Don’t ignore it. Get it checked.
