🥲🫠 depression can SUCK IT

10/14/2026

You want to get stronger, but you’re scared of making things worse. And that constant back-and-forth in your head is exhausting.

You deserve to feel confident in what your body can do, not constantly afraid of what might happen if you try.

Please know that you’re so much more capable than what your back pain has convinced you of.

If you feel this resonates, give it a like 🌻

Living with pain is exhausting. And not just physically.

There’s so much that goes on behind the scenes that other people don’t see.

The appointments, the exercises, the constant checking in with your body, the frustration of not knowing how you’re going to feel tomorrow.

And on top of all that? You’re still trying to work, maintain relationships, take care of your family, and enjoy your life.

That’s A LOT to carry.

And when you’re spending so much mental energy managing your pain, it makes sense that other things sometimes fall through the cracks.

I think we spend so much time talking about how to manage pain that we forget to acknowledge how much work managing it actually takes.

So here’s your reminder that your effort counts, even when nobody else can see it ✨🌻

If this resonated with you, share it with someone who might need to hear it, too.

Living with pain can sometimes make you question what your body is capable of.

You might start avoiding movements that have hurt before, second-guessing what your body can handle, or feeling like every setback puts you right back at square one.

But here’s what I want you to remember:

💜 Your pain does not define you.
💜 A difficult day doesn’t erase your progress.
💜 Your body deserves trust, not just protection.

And most importantly, you don’t have to wait until you’re pain-free to start building strength, confidence, and trust in your body again.

Your pain is part of your experience, but it doesn’t have to dictate your story.

Save this for the days you need a little reminder 🌻

If you feel like you’ve tried everything for your back, I want you to think about how long you actually tried each thing for.

Because sometimes the problem isn’t that the exercise “didn’t work.”

Maybe you did it for a couple of weeks, started feeling better, and stopped.

Maybe you’ve been doing the same version for months without increasing the weight, reps, range of motion, or difficulty.

Or maybe you keep jumping from exercise to exercise hoping the next one will finally be the one.

You don’t necessarily need a new exercise.

Sometimes you need to give the one you’re already doing enough time to actually get stronger at it — and gradually progress it as your body adapts.

That’s where a lot of the magic happens.

DM me BACK if you’re not sure how to progress the exercises you’re already doing.

One of my favourite parts of this work is watching someone realize their body can do more than they thought.

Not because every painful movement magically disappears overnight.

But because they start building strength, confidence, and trust in what their body can handle.

That’s a huge part of how I work with clients.

If something hurts, the goal isn’t always to just remove it and move on. Sometimes we adapt it, find a version that feels manageable, and slowly build from there.

Over time, movements that once felt intimidating, painful, or completely off-limits can start to feel possible again.

And that shift matters.

Because you’re capable of more than what your pain has convinced you of.

If you’re dealing with ongoing low back pain and want support rebuilding strength and confidence in what your body can do, DM me “BACK” and I’ll send you the details about my 12-week program.

If your back feels stiff and achy after sitting at a desk all day, stretching can feel AMAZING.

But that doesn’t exactly mean your back is “too tight”.

Sometimes, it’s simply been in the same few positions for hours and is asking for a little more variety.

And this is where people sometimes swap one extreme for another:

“I sit too much, that must be why my back hurts. I’ll get a standing desk.”

And then they’ll stand for 8 hours instead and still wonder why their back hurts.

Being in one position all day is what is causing the discomfort.

Your body needs options!
Sit upright for a bit. Slouch for a bit. Add some support behind your back. Stand up. Shift around. Take a few extra steps when you can.

AND outside of your workday, building strength can help give your body more capacity for everything you ask it to do.

So yes—stretch your back if it feels good.

Just don’t let stretching be the only tool in your toolbox.

If you want to start building strength but back pain makes you nervous, you do not need a complicated routine to get started.

Try the following:
• Sit-to-stand — 3×10
• Incline push-up — 2×8
• Supported low back extensions — 2×6
• Beginner dead bug — 2×20 total (10 per side)
• Glute bridge — 3×10

A couple of things to remember:

You can modify movements to make them more comfortable. For the push-ups, I switched from flat palms to fists to reduce wrist extension.

And with the back extensions, the goal is not to force as much movement as possible. Use your forearms for support and work within a range that feels manageable for you.

Your back is allowed to move. Your back is allowed to get stronger.

Save this for your next strength day.

You probably don’t need another 20 exercises for your back.

You might already have a list from physio, a few saved from Instagram, and every intention of doing them.

But more options don’t always make it easier to start.

Sometimes they just make it harder to know what’s realistic enough to actually fit into your week.

A good plan doesn’t need to be huge.

It needs to be manageable enough that you can repeat it, learn from it, and eventually progress it.

Because the goal isn’t to collect more exercises.

It’s to actually use movement to build confidence and capacity over time.

If you are feeling overwhelmed with your exercises and need a simpler place to start, comment ✨GUIDE✨ and I’ll send you my FREE 3-Day Movement Confidence Reset Workbook 💪
