Your hearing health is built from small daily choices, not just clinic visits. 🍁🍂
1. Protect from noise: Try the 60/60 rule, keep personal devices at or below 60% for 60 minutes then take a quiet break, and use protection in loud environments over 85 dB. Once inner ear hair cells are damaged, they do not grow back.
2. Support circulation: Daily movement like a 30-minute walk, staying hydrated, and regular light cardio support heart and vascular health. Good vascular health is associated with better hearing health over time.
3. Book a check-up: An annual hearing test helps us track your baseline and catch subtle changes before you notice them.
4. Prioritize sleep: 7 to 8 hours of sleep supports brain function and attention. When you are tired, listening takes more effort, which can lead to listening fatigue.
5. Notice early signs: Ringing, muffled hearing after noise, often asking for repeats, or turning volume up are worth checking early. They are not just "getting older."
