💗 Breast Health Awareness Month: What’s in your skincare?

Your skin is your body’s largest organ, so let’s show it a little love!

Some everyday personal care products contain ingredients that may interfere with hormone activity. And since breast tissue is hormone-sensitive, it’s worth paying attention to what we’re using!

My first swap? Deodorant. Non-negotiable for me!

Everything else? I’m not throwing out $300 worth of products and starting over.

When I use something up like, skincare, makeup, shampoo, lotion… I look for a cleaner alternative.

Apps like EWG Healthy Living are great starting points for navigating those ingredient lists without needing a chemistry degree!

You don’t need to overhaul your entire bathroom overnight.

Small shifts. Big changes. 💗

What’s one product you’ve made the switch on?

You wouldn’t miss a million-dollar meeting because you got distracted scrolling your phone, would you?

Yet somehow, sleep is often the first thing we sacrifice and the last thing we prioritize.

October is Breast Health Awareness Month, and while we often talk about screenings, hormones, and healthy habits, there’s one important piece of breast wellness that deserves more attention: SLEEP!

Quality sleep helps regulate hormones, supports immune function, manages inflammation, and gives your body time to repair and restore.

All important pieces of your overall health, including breast health.

You don’t need another complicated wellness routine. Sometimes the best thing you can do for your body is put yourself to bed.

Your health deserves a standing appointment.

MY HORMONES HAVE SOME EXPLAINING TO DO. 🙄🤣

Seriously, ladies. One minute the girls are minding their own business, and the next they’re swollen, tender, and acting like they’ve got a personal vendetta against us.

Welcome to the hormonal roller coaster!

Here’s something worth knowing: Estrogen and progesterone don’t just affect your mood, sleep, and hot flashes. They also influence your breast tissue.

As we move through perimenopause and menopause, fluctuating hormone levels can contribute to:

🌸 Breast tenderness and fullness
🌸 Changes in breast tissue
🌸 Fluid retention and swelling
🌸 Changes in how our breasts look and feel

And while these changes can be common, that doesn’t mean we should automatically dismiss them as just hormones.

This is where having the right support matters.

Find someone who listens, understands perimenopause and menopause, and knows what labs to run to help you make informed decisions about your hormonal health.

And yes, let’s talk about bioidentical hormone therapy! 🙌

For some women, regulated, bioidentical hormone treatments can be a helpful option for managing menopausal symptoms. They’re not a one-size-fits-all solution, and your individual health history, breast health, and treatment goals all matter.

You deserve more than being told, “Well, you’re getting older.” 🙄

Your hormones may be throwing a party you never agreed to attend, but that doesn’t mean you have to navigate it without support.

Know your body. Ask questions. Find someone who listens.

Ladies, give those girls a reason to bounce! 🍒😉

When we talk about breast health, movement deserves a little more attention!

Our bodies are designed to MOVE. And it’s not just about building muscle or getting our steps in.

Movement supports healthy circulation, metabolic health, strength, mobility and our lymphatic system. Fun fact: our lymphatic system doesn’t have a heart to pump fluid around. It relies partly on muscle contractions and even our breathing to help keep things flowing.

Pretty cool what our bodies can do when we give them a little help, right?

For me, it’s daily walks with Priya 🐾, strength training and Pilates. Each brings something different to the table, and together they make a huge difference in how I feel.

But here’s the thing: you don’t need to do what I do.

Walk, lift, dance, swim, rebound, bike… whatever gets you moving and makes you feel good!

No pressure to do it all. No need to turn your life upside down.

Just find something you love and keep showing up for yourself.

Small things. Big shifts. 💗

This Breast Health Awareness Month, I want to focus on what we can actually do to support breast health and reduce risk.

Awareness matters. Screening matters. Early detection matters.

So I’m starting with alcohol. 🍷

And yes… if you know me, you know I love a glass of w**e.

This isn’t an anti-alcohol post, and it definitely isn't about perfection. It's about understanding the things we can influence.

Alcohol is a known, modifiable breast cancer risk factor, and in general, breast cancer risk increases as alcohol intake increases.

Alcohol can raise circulating estrogen levels, and greater estrogen exposure is linked with increased risk for some hormone-sensitive breast cancers.

I’ve seen changes in my own thermography patterns when alcohol has been a more regular part of my routine. Alcohol can affect circulation and vascular activity, which matters when we’re comparing thermal patterns over time.

So no, I’m not telling you to never enjoy another glass of w**e.

I’m saying this: less is better when it comes to breast health.

Your girls called… apparently they’d like a little follow-through😏💗

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so consider this your reminder to put breast health back on the list.

No radiation. No compression. No contact. Thermography is a non-invasive imaging tool that measures surface temperature patterns and can be used as part of a broader breast-health approach.

Do your girls a solid and check in 💓

There isn’t just one reason women choose thermography.

For some, it’s the comfort of an imaging option with no compression and no radiation. For others, it’s having dense breast tissue, implants, hormonal changes, breast discomfort or a family history that makes them want another way to be proactive.

Thermography measures heat and vascular patterns in the body. Establishing your personal baseline allows those patterns to be monitored for changes over time, often before you would notice anything yourself.

Your breast health deserves more than a one-time snapshot.

Appointments are available September 28th in Lloydminster.

Book online or message me and I can help you find an appointment.

Our goal is to help women feel informed and empowered about their breast health. Breast thermography offers a comfortable, non-invasive screening option that can provide additional insight alongside traditional imaging.

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is:

“I’ll book a thermography scan if something ever feels wrong.”

But breast-health awareness doesn’t have to begin with a symptom.

Thermography records heat and vascular patterns at the skin’s surface. Your initial scan begins the process of establishing your personal baseline, giving future scans something meaningful to compare against.

Your own patterns over time.

It’s a proactive way to add another layer of information to your breast-health routine:

✨ No compression
✨ No radiation
✨ Non-invasive
✨ Personal baseline tracking

You don’t have to wait for your body to give you a reason to start paying attention.

September appointments are now booking:

📅 September 15
📅 September 28

What does thermography actually measure? 👀

It doesn’t take a picture of a lump.

Thermography measures patterns of heat and vascular activity at the skin’s surface. Those patterns can give us functional information about how an area of the body is behaving.

We’re looking at things like:

* temperature differences
* unusual heat patterns
* changes in vascular activity
* whether patterns stay stable or change over time

One of the biggest benefits is the ability to establish a baseline and compare future images.

It’s not a replacement for mammography or ultrasound. It gives a different kind of information.

Structural imaging asks: “What does it look like?”
Thermography asks: “How is it behaving?”

September clinic dates are:
