Chiron's Way Transforming Lives and Businesses - Today. Are you looking for more peace, joy and success?

Sandra is a counsellor, educator and trainer specializing in the transformational fields of Equine Guided Development and Belief Change Psychology. Are you ready to move beyond previous limitations into a life that is fulfilling and alive? Sandra is a master at helping people create and live the life of their dreams. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and educator who specializes in the trans

formational fields of Equine Assisted Learning and Belief Change Psychology. In her transformational sessions and/or workshops you’ll get clear on:
• what it is that you want to create – this may sound simple but many people get stuck here because they don’t know what they actually want in and out of life.
• what beliefs you have that are holding you back
• what actions steps need to be taken to actualize/realize your goals/dreams? Your life is a reflection of your “beliefs.”

These beliefs, usually subconscious, are the cumulative effect of life-long programming. As a result of past conditioning, we sometimes think and behave in self-defeating ways. Conscious thoughts can be changed easily by receiving new information: reading a book, having a conversation of seeing the results of your actions. If conscious information was all that was needed, then experiencing success in all areas of life would be easy. Unless changes are made at the subconscious level however, repeating undesired behaviours and reactions will likely continue. Subconscious beliefs have far reaching consequences, both positive and negative, I every aspect of life. They affect moods, relationships, job performance, self-esteem and even physical health. It is imperative to know how identify and change beliefs that are limiting you into beliefs that support you.

A beautiful memory with incredible synchronicity because yesterday... the edits for the horse wisdom deck that the noble and beloved Sutter is a part of, were returned to the editor. I have not said anything about this project yet as I was waiting for it to be 'real' but I'm thinking... this memory arrived today as a little nudge from the horses, to say it's real! We're real! And it's time to gallop forth! 🙂

So... with great honour, gratitude, love and excitement... here's a little nicker of a share, with bigger whinnies to follow in the new year. ❤

And dear Neda, I hope Sutter's painting and card will be especially meaningful for you and for all who were embraced by his immense heart and presence ❤

Bird Brain… brilliant!

08/18/2023

Recent studies conducted by the Institute of Heart-Math provide a clue to explain the two-way ′′healing′′ that occurs when we're close to horses.
According to researchers, the heart has an electromagnetic field larger than the brain: a magnetometer can measure the energy field of the heart that radiates from 2.4 meters to 3 meters around the human body.
While this is certainly significant, perhaps more impressive than the electromagnetic field projected by the heart of a horse is five times larger than that of a human being (imagine an electromagnetic sphere around the horse) and it can influence straight into our own heart rate.
Horses are also likely to have what science has identified as a "coherent′′ heart rate (heart rate pattern) that explains why we can feel better when we're close to them. Studies have found a coherent heart pattern or HRV to be a solid measure of well-being and consistent with emotional states of calm and joy-that is, we exhibit such patterns when we feel positive emotions.
A coherent heart pattern is indicative of a system that can recover and adapt to stressful situations very efficiently. Many times, we just need to be in the presence of horses to feel a sense of well-being and peace.
In fact, research shows that people experience many physiological benefits by interacting with horses, including lower blood pressure and heart rate, higher beta-endorphins (neurotransmitters acting as pain suppressors), decreased stress levels, decreased feelings of anger, hostility, tension and anxiety, better social working; and greater feelings of empowerment, confidence, patience and self-efficacy.

I'm over the moon excited to be heading back to Ireland in June to see and adventure with dear friends, hopefully make it up to the Giant's Causeway 🍀 and to share the PSYCH-K® Basic Workshop with folks who are looking for an easy to learn, yet profoundly powerful process, to enrich and transform lives, theirs and the people (and animals/HORSES) they love, live and work with.

And of course, great CRAIC will be had by all 😉 as we learn how to change our perceptual filters and limiting subconscious beliefs so we can, as Wayne Dyer says... "When we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change."

If you'd like to learn more, or join us for these beautiful 3 days in Greater Dublin, please get in touch. 🍀🍀

This big guy arrived early for the Easter Egg Hunt... however Greg, every protective of his den, especially when there are easter eggs in play, did his patented shooo bear, Shooooo.....so Mr. Bear, every so slowly, trundled away.

I often get asked if the horses worry about the bears. As you can see in this picture, the bear is looking toward Chiron but Chiron is dozing in the morning sun.

CAN WRINKLES ABOVE THE EYE TELL US HOW A HORSE IS FEELING?

Horses communicate primarily using body language and they display a number of facial expressions.

Their eyes, in particular, can be very expressive and are thought to reveal how a horse is feeling. Many equine behaviourists and horse owners believe the wrinkles above a horse’s eye may be associated with discomfort, fear, stress or anxiety – they are often called ‘worry lines’. However, until recently, there has never been any scientific study researching the links between these facial expressions and the horse’s emotional state.

A team of researchers from Switzerland, the UK and the USA set out to examine whether eye wrinkles are caused by negative emotional states in the horse, or whether it was simply a case of humans interpreting these wrinkles as they would for themselves.

The wrinkles studied appear above the upper eyelid are a result of the contraction of the underlying inner eyebrow raiser muscles. These eye wrinkles are commonly seen, but may differ in shape, number and severity in different individual horses.

The team placed 16 horses at the Swiss National Stud Farm into two ‘positive’ situations:
* Anticipation of a food reward;
* Being stroked.

And into two ‘negative’ situations:
* Competing for food;
* Having a plastic bag waved nearby.

These four test conditions were chosen as they were situations the horses were reasonably likely to encounter in their day-to-day management.

Photos of the horses’ eyes were taken while they were tested and the images analysed based on overall impression, shape of the eyelid, eye whites, number of wrinkles, markedness and angle.

In the situations presumed to be positive, the researchers found that while stroking did reduce the expression of eye wrinkles, wrinkles were sometimes seen when food was present. This may have been as a result of the horses being frustrated around food. The negative situations did increase the likelihood of the eye wrinkles occurring.

The researchers found the angle of the wrinkles changed, depending on the situation. The angle was wider in negative situations, compared to positive, due to a stronger contraction of the inner eyebrow raiser. More eye white was seen in negative situations.

The number and depth of wrinkles and how much white of the eye was shown revealed that some characteristics of eye wrinkling were affected by different emotional states.

Researchers concluded that a horse’s emotional state could be linked with their eye wrinkle expression and therefore this could be a potential indicator of horse welfare. However, the team indicated that further research was needed.

Research team: Sara Hintze (University of Bern and Agroscope, Swiss National Stud Farm, Switzerland); Samantha Smith (University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom); Antonia Patt (University of Maryland, United States); Iris Bachmann (Agroscope, Switzerland); Hanno Würbel (University of Bern, Switzerland).

I’ll echo the cat that Kim has let out of the bag 🙀🤗

So excited, honoured, grateful and and and… to be dreaming our dream into being dear friend - with Inner Traditions/Bear & Company Press welcoming us into their herd. It feels magical and I love the snippet you shared from what will be one of the cards form the deck.

Does anyone who knows my herd recognize this trickster?

Love, love, love,
Sandra

I have some fantastic news for all of you wonderful fans out there and I haven't been sure how to post it so I'm just going to jump right in. For years I've been co-writing and illustrating a NEW horse wisdom card deck with my dear friend Sandra Wallin and in February it was selected by Inner Traditions/Bear & Co Press!!! It is my dream project and the horses have made it happen. 🙏🙏🙏 So when you don't see many posts from me you'll know it's because I'm creating more art and writing more this year than I ever have! 😅 To share a little bit of the magic, here is a small section of one of the new works ✨💨💦

The WEIGHT

The horse said,

"For so long, I have been carrying the weight of humanity, in all its forms. Across nomadic landscapes, in times of conquest, and today in what some of you think of as kinship."

So the girl said,

"Rest your head in my hands and allow me to carry you for a while."

The field of equine guided development, and all its incarnations, is powerfully positioned to give back to these benevolent beings who've walked beside, and often carried us, along our evolutionary journey. Yet, when considering the horse, many still see and use them as tools, even within the aforementioned field.

In 2012, a pivotal document was published substantiating that consciousness does not lie solely within the domain of homo sapiens. The Cambridge Declaration on Consciousness, written by a group of prominent scientists, goes on to prove that animals are conscious... sentient... and have feelings.

For those of us who grew up in the company of animals, and maybe some of you - like me - dreamed of being Dr. Doolittle, knew most certainly that talking with animals was the only sure way to have a meaningful conversation and that listening was certainly more important than talking.

Horse listening is something I've been apprenticing in my entire life and though I'll likely never graduate, the Chiron's Way herd and in fact all of the horses I've had the pleasure to meet (and animals and trees and streams etc. but that's for another time), have been such patient teachers.

Beginning this May, the horses are calling in a new herd of apprentices.

People feel drawn to horses for as many reasons as there are people but the horses don't care why you come... they just care that you do... and that you come as you are with opens hearts - and ears - and listen to what they have to say.

And then, whether you want to learn how to work within this beautiful and transformative field as an Equine Guided Learning/Wellness/Therapy/Leadership (etc...) specialist, OR unbridle your creativity, kick up your heels, honour and heal a sacred wound, restore - rejuvenate - remember... the horses are listening...waiting for you to say yes.

I just came in from the stone circle, a mini Stone Henge that lives centric in the paddock with the horses. My plan was to work with the Principles of Nature - a PSYCH-K practice that aligns our mindset with what Nature can teach about living happy, balanced and sustainable lives. It was quite a magical time.

All four horses came and encircled me while I completed the process.Normally, Chiron would be unable to resist pulling out the papers or shuffling them around with his nose, but today, the entire herd stood silent and still. Then, as I finished, they exhaled, one after the other, leaving me to sit in a circle of deep peace.

Should you find yourself out in Nature today, notice how she answers back. Perhaps there will be music, or horse whiffles ❤

Happy Earth Day.
Sandra

Huge thanks to Julie-Anne and the colourful creatives who joined us for this evening (morning/afternoon) of Herd Music. I'm always touched by how beautifully horses and art can move us into peaceful and heightened states.

My dear friend Michelle wrote:
Well Sandra, that was absolutely lovely💕!
Halfway through, I realized I had almost forgotten what it was like to be in the lovely state of creativity! I have been well-stuck in this lockdown-induced fog of apathy and dis-interest. Surviving but not thriving😕

I was blown away with the Lost Spells Blessing, have listened to it all evening. That was my favourite creation, on the screen shot (beside Yvonne's too!).

So thank you for allowing the spark of light in😘💖 Fair play to you and Julie-Anne, a great idea, thank you. More please now!

So on that note 😉 we'll let you know when the next creative offering is ready to share and ... thank you for your kind donations. 💙💛

Huge thanks to Sandra Wallin from Chiron's Way for facilitating our get together last night. It was wonderful to connect with this tribe from across the UK, USA and Canada who are committed to supporting wellbeing. Just a drop in the ocean but donations have been made to the charities supporting Ukraine & participants gained insights on how the arts can help regulate emotional states. Among the comments "thank you so much - not a good day and the anxiety has gone..."
