"Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more” – The Divine
As Thankgiving approaches, l thought I would make a list of all things I am grateful for today and everyday:
💛Accountability. I'm so glad I've finally realized that I'm accountable for myself and my life.
💛Acceptance. I'm so thankful to those who accept me for who I am.
💛Art. To quote Ani Difranco, "Art is why I get up in the morning."
💛Books. There's never a time when I'm not thankful for the words of another.
💛Choice. I love that every day I can choose to be happy. Fabulous!
💛Color. As you can probably tell from my site, I'm obsessed with it!
💛Change. It is scary, but I have learnt that it can be a wonderful thing.
💛Comfort. Comfort food, comfy sweatpants, a comfortable relationship...comfort rocks!
💛Challenges. They may suck at the time, but they always make me a better person.
💛Compliments. Yeah, you know you're thankful for 'em too.
💛Encouragement. So many people have supported me in my life and I'm so lucky to have them.
💛Friends. There is no way I could survive without them. Love you guys!
💛Family. My true foundation!
💛Food. It's a major part of life, but I often forget to be thankful for it.
💛Generosity. One of those things that's just as great to give as it is to get.
💛Glitter. C'mon now, you know glitter is just about the awesome thing ever.
💛Hope. Sometimes it's hard to find, but it's always there, waiting to lift me up.
💛Health. I'm a pretty healthy girl and I'm so, so, SO happy about that.
💛Handwriting. It's so cool how we're all so different and this is a great place to see that.
💛Holidays. There's something incredibly exciting about them (especially Halloween!!!!).
💛Imagination: I don't know where (or who!) I would be without it...
💛Laughter. There is little better in the world than the laugh-so-hard-you-cry feeling.
💛Life. How cool is that I'm actually here, in this world, living?
💛Love. It's completely magical and amazing, isn't it?
💛Magic. Just read a quote saying magic is in everything. So true!
💛Rainbows. I saw a 180 degree today in !!!
💛Sunshine. I don't see too much of it today, but I love, love, love when the sun's shining.
💛Seasons. Spring, summer, winter, fall -- love 'em all!
💛Stars. I love how they blanket us at night
💛Smiles. I love giving them and getting them.

💛Words. They are literally my lifeline. I would not be me without them.
💛Good News. We all know there's a lot of bad news out there, so it's great to hear the good stuff.
I feel I could keep writing.

💛Positive affirmations are very powerful because they release you from negativity, fear, worry, and anxiety.
💛When these affirmations are repeated over and over again, they begin to take charge of your thoughts, slowly changing your pattern of thinking and ultimately changing your life.
💛You may choose to use positive affirmations to motivate yourself, encourage positive changes in your life, or boost your self-esteem. If you frequently find yourself getting caught up in negative self-talk, positive affirmations can be used to combat these often subconscious patterns and replace them with more adaptive narratives.
💛Lets start our day today, by chosing to repeat these four affirmations:
I AM LOVED
I AM HAPPY
I AM HEALTHY
I AM WEALTHY

💛Self care:
Here are some self care – self soothing activities to try and calm down emotions of anxiety and make it more manageable.
🟡Coloring:
Colouring books have increased in popularity for their ability to reduce anxiety and stress. The repetitive and engaging nature of colouring encourages relaxation and calm, detaching us from negative thoughts.
🟡Breathing:
Breathing is the number one and most effective technique for reducing annoyance and anxiety quickly. Closing your eyes and taking deep breaths is a great way to calm down your pounding heart and earth yourself at the same time.
🟡Cuddling:
Playing with a pet is an exceptionally effective self-soothing activity. Animals have an ability to easily re-direct our messy thoughts.
🟡Airing :
Heating will be switched on soon enough as fall weather sets in. Humid room can be a catalyst in increasing your anxiety while airy and cool outside air can assist to regulate your breathing. I find my anxious thoughts, melt away as I go out for a quick walk or spend some time in my backyard especially if its chilly

🟡Bathing:
Soaking yourself in warm water can help to regulate your breathing and relieve symptoms of anxiety.
🟡Lighting a Candle:
Scented candles, essential oils, incense, wax melts, perfumes and even smelling some fresh flowers can help lower your anxious mind. There are so many choices to experiment and see what works best for you. My personal favourite is lavender essential oil.
🟡Positive Affirmations
Positive affirmations are short, positive statements (such as “I am stronger than this emotion”) that assist to re-align your negative mindset.By reiterating positive affirmations, you can redirect your feelings to a positive place.

💛It takes so little to brighten someone else’s day.
💛Yet it can leave them feeling happy for a moment, an hour, a day, or give them a sweet memory for life.
💛And it makes you feel pretty awesome, too.
💛Here are some ideas for being your own little rainbow:
🟡Send a note to a sick friend
🟡Buy a cupcake for a sad friend
🟡Ring the supervisor of the salesperson who gave you great service
🟡Notice something someone did for you and thank them for it
🟡Ask that friend who was uncharacteristically quiet if everything is ok
🟡Tell someone you care about that you think they’re swell
🟡Smile at the people in your office, gym, or other regular haunt
🟡Offer to help a stressed or struggling friend (in a way that feels comfortable, not a way that makes you stressed)
🟡Forgive or stop holding a grudge against someone who hurt you.

☀️Summer is a great time of year to have your family focus on kindness. Families may already have a summer activity bucket list or a to-do-list of activities for their children. It would be wonderful to add another challenge to their summer – A Kindness Challenge.
