Diabetes mellitus can be recognized by the changes in your voice. In men with diabetes, the trembling of the voice increases and its volume changes, while in women the pitch of the voice changes. Their voice is can get hoarse and sometimes disappear altogether. This happens due to a high concentration of glucose in the blood, which damages muscle fibers, including the vocal cords.
To investigate the potential of voice analysis as a prescreening or monitoring tool for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) by examining the differences in voice recordings between nondiabetic and T2DM individuals.
