🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation | September 30

Today, we honour Survivors of residential schools, the children who never returned home, and the families and communities who continue to carry the impacts of residential schools and colonialism.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a time to remember, but also to listen, learn and reflect on the work that still needs to be done.

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s 94 Calls to Action provide a framework for meaningful change and remind us that reconciliation is an ongoing responsibility shared by all of us.

As a community health centre, we recognize that reconciliation is closely connected to health, equity and access to culturally safe care. Through our programs, services and partnerships, we work to reduce barriers, create inclusive and respectful spaces, and support the health and well-being of the communities we serve.

This work is ongoing. Reconciliation means continuing to learn, build relationships and reflect on how our policies, practices and services can contribute to meaningful change.

Today, we remember. We listen. We learn. And we continue the work toward reconciliation.
