“Sometimes we don’t need another answer. We need a little more space to hear ourselves.”
That is Rajinder Virk, and it is how she describes her work.
Rajinder has joined Novah as our psychotherapist. She is a Registered Social Worker with fifteen years across the healthcare system, seven of them supporting people through chronic illness, trauma and major life transitions.
She works with adults on anxiety, worry and panic; stress and emotional exhaustion; grief and loss; relationships, family and attachment; self-esteem, boundaries and self-worth; career and life transitions; and the emotional side of living with a long-term health condition. She brings particular experience supporting South Asian and multicultural adults through family and cultural expectations, immigration, and intergenerational experiences.
She draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, attachment-informed therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, grief therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and strengths-based and solution-focused approaches.
In her own words — “I won’t tell you what you should do, and I won’t promise a particular outcome. I’m here to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and help you understand your own experience more clearly.”
Sessions are for adults, in person or by video anywhere in Ontario. Psychotherapy at Novah is available in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.
As with any practitioner here, you can book ten minutes with Rajinder first at no cost — no examination, no treatment, no obligation.
