Vestibular Rehab Progression: Training Your VOR 👀
Ever heard of the VOR? 🤔
The Vestibulo-Ocular Reflex (VOR) is a reflex that helps keep your vision clear when your head moves. If it's not working properly, everyday activities like walking, turning your head, or shopping in busy environments can make you feel dizzy or unsteady.
This is a simple progression of VOR exercises: 👇
• VOR x1 (Seated)
• VOR x2 (Seated)
• VOR x1 (Standing)
• VOR x1 (Walking)
The goal is to gradually challenge your vestibular system while keeping symptoms manageable. Mild symptom provocation can be normal during these exercises, but your symptoms should settle shortly afterward.
⚠️Remember: vestibular rehab isn't one-size-fits-all. The right exercises—and how quickly you progress—depend on your specific condition and should be guided by a healthcare professional.
