Welcome to the second video of our series, FemTx Features. This series highlights the stories of our team members, healthcare providers, and patients, showcasing their contributions to advancing women's health.
Our second feature is Tannaz Torkaman, our Quality Specialist. With a background in mechanical engineering, Tannaz ensures that our quality and regulatory processes meet the highest standards. She also supports project management and collaborates closely with our technical teams.
Tannaz is passionate about working in women's health. During her time in the surgical innovation program at McGill, she noticed a significant knowledge gap between what is known and what is created for women. Often, factors like hormones and women's physical features are excluded when developing health products.
Tannaz's bright energy and knack for project management make her a valuable asset to our team. Thank you for all that you do, Tannaz!

How FemTx Came to Be
Inara Lalani, CEO and Co-Founder of FemTherapeutics shares the story of how FemTherapeutics came to be. The idea was sparked during the McGill Surgical Innovation program, where Inara and Negin (CTO + Co-Founder) shadowed Dr. Gangal (CMO + Co-Founder) in the OR to understand the pain points of traditional pessaries and the frequency of hysterectomy surgeries.
They found that pessaries, one of the oldest medical devices, hadn't evolved much over decades and could be improved.
Driven to bridge this gap, FemTherapeutics was founded with the mission of developing customized pessaries tailored to each patient's specific condition.
