Cancer has touched so many people in my life, and through my work I meet new survivors every day. Their strength, fear, hope, and love stay with me long after each conversation ends. This year at the Polka Dot Trot 2026, I’m walking to stand beside them and their families, to show them they’re not facing this alone.

A little reminder that **self-prioritization doesn't always have to look like a spa day.** Sometimes it looks like actually eating lunch between clients, choosing something nourishing, and giving yourself permission to pause. 💗

And while we're talking about taking care of ourselves…

I'm excited to share that **compression garment fitting and retailing are now being offered at the clinic.**

As a Certified Compression Garment Fitter, I'll be able to help clients with selecting and fitting appropriate compression garments as part of their lymphedema and edema management, with a focus on **proper fit, comfort, function, and medical need.**

This is a really natural extension of the work I've been doing with MLD and Complete Decongestive Therapy, and I'm excited to be able to offer a more complete approach to care, all under one roof.

One of the things I love most about being a therapist is the conversations that happen in the treatment room.

The "wait... I didn't know that" moments.

The questions people have been wondering about for years.

The things they thought were normal, only to find out there's actually an explanation.

I hear a lot of interesting comments during the day, but my favourite is probably:

"I wish someone had told me that sooner."

I'm having a proud mom moment today. ❤️

My son just cut off 12 inches of hair to donate to .for.kids and honestly, my heart could explode.

Working with so many people affected by cancer and other health conditions, I've seen firsthand how much something like a wig can mean during a difficult chapter of life. It's never "just hair."

I've always tried to teach him that if you have the ability to help someone, you should. Big ways, small ways—it all matters.

Today, I got to watch him put that into practice.

Twelve inches of hair, a simple act of kindness, and one very proud mom ❤️
