If you could sit on this bench and spend one hour chatting with anyone, who would it be?

Someone you miss? Someone who inspires you? Someone you’ve always wanted to meet? Or someone you wish you could have just one more conversation with?

Who would you choose, and what would you want to talk about?

I Missed You Quietly Today: Words for Comfort, Strength and Solace in Times of Grief
By Becky Hemsley

Grief can be a lonely journey, filled with moments when words are difficult to find. In this beautiful collection of poetry, Becky Hemsley offers gentle words of comfort, inviting readers to reflect on the pain of loss while honouring the love that remains.

Through poems such as Quietly and Signs, this collection offers space for reflection, moments of peace, and the reassurance that love continues to be part of us, even after someone has died.
Sometimes, when our own words fail us, poetry can express what our hearts are struggling to say.

Book of the Week
After the Last Goodbye: A Comforting Guide Through the Grief of Losing a Beloved Pet
by Hazel Linden

When an animal who was family dies, the house can suddenly feel unbearably quiet.
After the Last Goodbye is a compassionate companion for those moments when there are no easy words—and when others may not understand just how profound the loss can be.

Written for anyone grieving a beloved dog, cat, horse, rabbit, bird, guinea pig, or other animal companion, this book makes space for the many experiences of pet grief: sadness, guilt, anger, relief, loneliness, and the unexpected moments when grief catches you off guard.

With short, accessible chapters, gentle reflection prompts, and remembrance pages, the book offers support without telling you how you should grieve. It explores saying goodbye, returning to everyday life, supporting children and other pets, keeping the bond alive, and wondering whether—or when—to love again.

Because you did not simply lose a pet.
You lost a companion who was part of your everyday life.
A thoughtful resource for anyone grieving the death of a beloved animal.
