Tomorrow is AEMCA day! 🚑
To everyone writing tomorrow — good luck. You’ve put in the classes, scenarios, ride-outs, studying, and probably more than a few late nights to get here. Now it’s time to trust the work you’ve already done.
A few last-minute reminders:
• Read the question carefully. Don’t rush past words like initial, most appropriate, priority, or next. They matter.
• Go back to the basics when you’re stuck. ABCs, life threats, good patient assessment, and your BLS/ALS Patient Care Standards will get you through a lot of questions.
• Don’t invent information. Answer the patient and scenario you’re given — not the complication you’re worried might happen.
• Know your directives, but understand the “why.” AEMCA isn’t just about memorizing doses and conditions. Think about what is happening physiologically and what your treatment is trying to accomplish.
• Don’t let one hard question shake you. There will be questions you’re unsure about. Make your best clinical decision, move on, and don’t carry it into the next one.
Most importantly, remember what tomorrow represents. You’re not expected to know everything. You’re demonstrating that you have the knowledge, judgment, and foundation expected of an entry-level Primary Care Paramedic.
Get some sleep tonight. Eat something substantial tomorrow morning. Give yourself plenty of time to get settled.
Then trust your training.
From all of us at Medic Sense, good luck to everyone writing the AEMCA tomorrow. You’ve worked hard to get here — now go show them what you know. 🚑💪
