This luna moth visited myself, my friends and my love, during a camping trip this Summer.
This was a bucket list moment for me! π₯Ήπ¦β¨οΈ
I didn't know if I ever would see one, but they've always fascinated me with their magic and beauty.
I had to share as Fall shifts further from those Summer nights, and I reflect on my present. πΏ
Luna moths are such a potent reminder of the delicate, ephemeral nature of all things, living for only about a week.
They are deeply tied to mystical feminine and lunar energies, being nocturnal. The dark, the light, the intuitive depths... π
And they are of course linked with metamorphosis, renewal, and rebirth, given that they go through a cocoon stage, melt to goo... GOO... and emerge as something entirely different altogether.
Crazy. Amazing. π
They remind me of loosening the grip of control, of letting things come and go and flow...
Of appreciating what is, while it is,
And surrendering to life's undeniable impermanence.
Trusting what is to come... easy or hard, light or dark.
Knowing that how we move with or against things matters... how we perceive, process, and then utilize our willpower matters...
Deciding how we act, honouring and anchoring in our autonomy, having the courage to be brave as we follow our hearts and create boundaries.
It's a lot. π
But all of this reminds me that we can all transmute what doesn't serve us, to thrive in life.
I hope that we do, together. I hope we don't hold onto it all, with clenched fists, tight chests, closed throats, and heavy hearts.
I hope we all take moments to release, relax, breathe, remap, reroute, and make space... π¬ππ₯π±
To enter the cocoon again and again.
So that we can be open-hearted and open-minded, present and receptive, active and curious, with arms open wide for what joy may find us. So that we can ultimately move with less resistance through our lives.
I hope you're feeling all of the gratitude, alongside whatever else is alive for you right now.
Gratitude has to be allowed to co-exist with pain, or it doesn't get to truly exist at all.
I hope you're open to the ever-fleeting now.
Finding strength.
Finding peace.
Finding love.
Learning.
