Have a tattoo coming up? Read this first.

What you do before your session shapes how it goes in the chair. A few simple things make a real difference.

Eat a real meal one to two hours before. Protein and slow carbs, plus some fruit or veg. Coffee on an empty stomach doesn’t count.

Drink water all day, starting the day before. Hydrated skin takes ink better.

No alcohol in the 24 hours before. It tends to increase bleeding and can slow healing.

Keep taking your medication exactly as prescribed, blood thinners included. Tell your artist what you take, and ask a pharmacist before taking anything for pain.

Pack snacks and a sugary drink for long sessions. Breaks happen upstairs in the Zen Lounge, never at the tattoo chair.

Feel off? Tell your artist. A short pause is normal.

1 session. 1 full forearm. Marcus Aurelius in cracked marble, designed and tattooed in a single sitting.

Hunter sat for the whole forearm tattoo in 1 day. He didn’t need a second appointment, and he didn’t come back to finish the background.

Igor built the whole composition before the stencil went on: the bust turned up toward the light, baroque flourishes rolling off the elbow, the folds of the toga pinned, and a gothic window closing it out at the wrist.

A forearm like this is often where a sleeve starts. Thinking about yours? Comment SLEEVE and we’ll show you how we’d plan it from day 1.

They told us fine line fades. That it has to stay small, quiet, and close to the skin.

So Oxy draws to the body instead.

Every piece is custom, and drawn around the person wearing it. Fine line and floral, built to hold.

This is Oxy’s fine line collection at Zen Tattoo Studio in Oakville.

5 sessions. 1 full Greek mythology sleeve. Photographed fully healed, not fresh.

Most sleeves get posted the day they’re finished, still red and shiny. The real test comes months later, once the ink has settled into the skin and there’s nothing left to hide behind. This is that test.

Igor designed the whole arm as one story before session 1. Zeus calls down lightning from a temple archway on the upper arm. Below him, a Spartan holds his ground between the columns. On the inner forearm, Heracles wears the Nemean lion. Greek key bands carry each scene into the next.

Look at the beard. Then the lightning.

That’s what planned contrast does in black and grey realism. It’s built in from day 1, not added at the end, so it still reads this clearly once it’s healed.

John sat for all 5 sessions and trusted the plan the whole way.

What happens when two artists design one tattoo?

This client has been drawing her own designs for years. She came to us looking for an artist who understood her style and could combine it with theirs, and she found that in Oxy. This piece is what they came up with together, done in one session.

Watching the two of them work through ideas was a highlight for us. Collaborating with our clients and bringing two styles together is what makes a tattoo truly one of a kind.

If you have an idea, or you’re an artist yourself and want to collaborate with one of ours, send us a DM and we’d be happy to work with you.

This project isn’t finished. A warrior is going on the inside.

Two sessions in, and the wolf is only the start. The inner forearm is still to go, and we’re adding a warrior on the inside to bring the whole piece together.

Pavel, thank you for trusting us with your first big project. Clients who give us that trust are the reason we get to build pieces like this, and we can’t wait to see it all come together.

Luis specializes in animals and portraits, and the level of realism he brings to every piece speaks for itself. If you’re looking to book your next tattoo with him, reach out for availability and pricing. November has limited spots left.
Comment NOVEMBER and we’ll send you the details.

Hermes was the messenger who knew every road and crossed every boundary.

That’s the job in our studio. You bring the idea, we carry it one stage at a time, and we know the way before the first line goes in.

His first tattoo is a full sleeve. Here’s how to do it the right way.

Four sessions. Back to back. One complete design.

Jas didn’t start small. He came in with a vision for a full sleeve and trusted us to plan the whole thing before the first line went in. Every piece was designed to flow into the next, from the shoulder to the wrist, so it reads as one story instead of a collection of separate tattoos.

Doing it back to back matters. The piece stays consistent, the flow stays connected, and it heals as one cohesive sleeve. No gaps, no patchwork, no guessing where the next piece goes.

A first tattoo like this is built on trust. Jas showed up every session and let Devon do what he does best.
These are the projects we love! Collaborating with our clients, hearing their stories, and creating a one of one piece you cannot find anywhere else.

Thinking about your first sleeve? Comment SLEEVE and we’ll help you plan it the right way.
