MEET THE TEAM: Eric Desjardins Resident, Yogi & Thai Massage Therapist
Eric's wellness journey began at a young age, when at his first Karate classes he learned about the benefits of meditation and physical exercise. This later led him to explore the practice of Yoga and in 2005 he completed his first Yoga Teacher Training at Rama Lotus Yoga Centre in Ottawa, ON. In 2009, he graduated with distinction from La Cite Collegiale as a Physical and Occupational Therapy Assistant and began to explore how Yoga and Mindfulness might be used in Rehabilitation.
He travelled to India and has been classically trained in Rishikesh, the world capital of Yoga, under the tutelage of his present-day Guru. He went on to complete further levels of training, including two 500-hour Yoga Master Programs and received the title of Yoga Acharya, Master of Yoga, M.Y. from the International Sivanada Yoga Vedanta Centre. He has taught and travelled extensively abroad from India to Thailand, the Maldives, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Vancouver and Hong Kong, leading numerous yoga teacher trainings, workshops, and retreats.
During his travels he experienced the healing benefits of Thai massage. In 2011 he returned to Bangkok, Thailand to study at Wat Po, the birthplace of traditional Thai massage. He is certified in Thai Traditional Massage for Health from the Chetawan Thai Traditional Massage School.
Eric is passionate about sharing his expertise in the practice of Yoga and Wellness. He presents Yoga in a way that is accessible as he emphasizes safety and body alignment in all his classes with his grounding and vibrant energy. He is Practical and results oriented and believes that Yoga, Massage, Meditation are a benefit for everyone on their own healing journey
MEET THE TEAM: Julie Goldring, Registered Psychotherapist
Julie comes to the profession of Psychotherapy after a rewarding career as a Naturopathic Doctor, where she gained a deep understanding of how chronic health issues can often be based in emotions and thought processes that keep us stuck. Julie's knowledge, her passion for people and for understanding their emotional world has naturally led to a therapy practice that focuses on the whole person - Body, Mind and Spirit. Her treatment approach is designed to provide a
safe, accepting and supportive place for clients to explore their challenges, cultivate self-awareness and begin to heal with gentleness and direction.
Julie works from a Humanistic, Holistic and Integrative lens and includes a Trauma-informed approach, an understanding of Attachment Styles and of Mindfulness living to work towards wholeness. Julie is hoping to integrate therapy dogs into her trauma work in the future and has done extensive research with Canine Assisted Therapy in the treatment of people who have experienced many different types of trauma.
Julie is a registered member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Her special interests include:

In her spare time, Julie enjoys her dogs and other rescue animals and loves to soak in the peace of the natural world through hiking and swimming.
MEET THE TEAM: Rob Anderson, Registered Psychotherapist
Robert has over 17 years of experience in Mental Health and Addiction. His work has focused on complex trauma, PTSD, addiction, and general mental health issues. He currently is in private practice and also trains and supervises qualifying psychotherapists. He has developed a technique that enables people to process trauma, conducted lectures on his theoretical orientation, taught university courses, and researches the clinical use of psychedelics in his spare time.
His therapeutic approach is humanistic and considers the biopsychosocial spiritual model designed to get to the root issue. He has been influenced by various psychological approaches including, Jungian Theory, Object Relations, and Attachment Theory. He also incorporates somatic techniques and a mindfulness approach into his work. He is interested in working with people to help foster change that is both realistic and attainable. His approach is flexible and creative giving the individual what is required to help foster the change that is needed.
On the research side, his Ph.D. thesis investigated the North American shaman's experience of the Altered State of Consciousness. He used Carl Jung’s theory of the Collective Unconscious to inform his findings. He is also very interested in the use of psychedelics for therapeutic outcomes and is studying psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and plans on working and researching in this area exclusively.
Mary Marcolin, BA, BEd, MACP. Mary Marcolin is a member of the Beechwood Physical Medicine team, specializing in trauma related to childhood or work injuries. Mary is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Mary believes in the intrinsic capacity, with appropriate guidance, to reclaim one's life in the face of overwhelming challenges which may include anxiety, depression, grief, and chronic pain.
MEET OUR TEAM: Dr. Rebecca Glennie, Chiropractor
Dr. Rebecca Glennie studied Exercise Physiology and Kinesiology at the University of Toronto and worked in the field of Cardiac Rehabilitation prior to attending Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. She graduated with Clinical Honours as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2001. In 2003, Rebecca became an Active Release Techniques® (ART) Instructor and in 2009 a Certified SpiderTech Instructor. In 2013 she graduated from McMaster University’s Medical Acupuncture program.
Rebecca is a motivated and experienced Chiropractor who enjoys working with a wide range of patients including athletes, elderly, pre and post natal care and occupational related injuries. Her variety of treatment approaches in the management of chronic overuse injuries has made her especially popular amongst swimmers, marathon runners, skiers, cyclists, paddlers and triathletes.
Rebecca, an internationally experienced competitive swimmer and triathlete, strives to bring a love of fitness and the outdoors to her patients. Her passion lies in aiding patients of all ages and abilities to return to active and independent living through treatment, rehabilitation and exercise, nutrition and lifestyle modification. Using her skills as a practitioner and her compassionate and caring demeanour, Rebecca strives to maximize the overall health of every patient.
In her spare time, you will find Rebecca open water swimming, skiing, mountain biking and chasing her two teenage daughters around.
MEET OUR TEAM: Dr. Larry Ha, Chiropractor
Dr. Larry Ha focuses on the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal conditions through evidence-based methods, including manual therapy, movement, and patient education.
He is passionate about providing the very best personalized care to his patients while working with them to achieve their health goals. He believes in empowering his patients with the tools and confidence necessary to self-manage and maintain good health.
He works to provide high quality, patient-centered care to people of all ages and backgrounds to bring about the best outcomes. He understands the importance of taking the time to find out what’s right for each individual and recognizes that one approach doesn’t work for everyone.
Larry is all about helping people overcome their health challenges so they can be productive in their daily lives and get back to enjoying the activities that they love most.
Larry completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Ottawa and his chiropractic studies at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic. He is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic, as well as a member of the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, the Ontario Chiropractic Association, and the Canadian Chiropractic Association
MEET OUR TEAM: Dr. Stefan Eberspaecher, Chiropractor and Clinic Research Coordinator.
Dr. Stefan Eberspaecher joins Beechwood Physical Medicine with extensive prior experience in chiropractic and related fields. Stefan contributes to the development of low back pain guidelines with the World Health Organization as an invited member of their Peer Review Group and contributes to research and development of the Global Spine Care Initiative and World Spine Care.
Stefan has worked with a broad range of patients from geriatric to athletic. He enjoys seeing complex patients with whom he can integrate his knowledge of nutrition and exercise to help provide optimal outcomes. He especially enjoys helping patients regain function previously lost from years of arthritis.
Stefan has a BSc in Psychology and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. He studied at the University of Guelph, Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, and later acupuncture at McMaster Medical School. He also holds a Diplomate in Pain Management from the Canadian Academy of Pain Management.
MEET OUR TEAM: Dr. Markus Besemann, Physiatrist and Clinic Co-Owner.
Dr. Markus Besemann is a graduate of the University of Ottawa (MD ‘88). Specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry ‘96) he was Chief of Rehabilitation at the Hull regional hospital and rehabilitation center from 1996-2008. Since then he has devoted his career to the rehabilitation of injured CAF members. His main clinical interests lie in mind-body medicine, the influence of psychological trauma and moral injury on healing as well as ancient and novel approaches to mitigate human suffering.

MEET OUR TEAM: Dr. Geoff Outerbridge, Chiropractor and Clinic Co-Owner.
Dr. Geoff Outerbridge received a B.Sc. in Human Kinetics and a M.Sc. in Neuroscience from the University of Guelph.
Geoff has many years of experience treating athletic and occupational injuries. He has competed in many sports and brings his athletic experience together with his knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics and multiple soft tissue release techniques to get patients back to an active life quickly.
Along with a full time practice at Beechwood Physical Medicine, Geoff contributes to the development of low back pain guidelines with the World Health Organization, continues to contribute to research and development of the Global Spine Care Initiative, the World Spine Care project in Nepal, and is one of the directors of the University of Ottawa Musicians Wellness Centre.

Beechwood Physical Medicine is proud to honour the heroic efforts and tremendous sacrifice made by The Canadian Armed forces on this day August 19th, 1942. We commemorate this year the 80th anniversary of the Dieppe Raid. We remember their sacrifice led to valuable lessons for the Allies later implemented in other successful amphibious assaults in North Africa, Italy and Normandy. The heroic efforts of Canadians at Dieppe are well remembered.
