According to the World Health Organization (WHO), stress is a state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situation.

Stress is natural and a human response to stressors. This stress can become harmful, however, when it is out of proportion to the situation and starts to interfere with your day-to-day functioning.

This is where stress management comes in, which involves activities to cope with stress.

Stress management can be as simple as participating in one of these eight wellness activities:

Engage in regular physical activity.
Practice mindful breathing exercises.
Go for a leisurely walk around your neighborhood.
Write down your thoughts and feelings in a journal.
Spend time outdoors in natural settings.
Spend time doing one of your hobbies.
Do something fun with friends.
Talk to someone about the situation.

Are you ready for another wellness recipe?

This time, we are cooking up basil pesto pasta.

The benefits of basil pesto pasta can be experienced in many ways, from improving your skin health to reducing your risk of various diseases.

These health benefits can be experienced with as little as eight ingredients:

2 cups basil leaves
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 tbsp pine nuts, toasted & cooled
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
400 gr pasta

They are also super easy to make:

1. Cook pasta in boiling water in the packet direction, and drain.
2. In the processor combine basil, parmesan, garlic, and pine nuts until smooth.
3. While the motor is running add oil, salt & black pepper.
4. Add pesto to pasta.

• 3 cups Medjool dates pitted • 1 1/2 cups almonds • 1/2 cup water • 2 tbsp cacao powder • 120 g whey protein powder • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips • 1/2 cup coconut flakes

They are also super easy to make:

1. Add ingredients to a food processor.
3. Place in the fridge. hand.

It’s time for a wellness break.

If you are feeling uneasy today or any other day, try using this simple 4-7-8 breathing technique.

This technique can help you practice mindfulness, or the ability to stay present without letting your thoughts consume you.

Here are the steps:
Step away from what is stressing you out.
Find a space that brings you calm.
Breathe in for the count of four.
Hold this breath for the count of seven.
Exhale for the count of eight.
Take another breath in and slowly out.
Repeat until you feel a sense of calm.
