We talk A LOT about breath and it's relationship to our core and pelvic floor.💨

Our breath is what allows our core to lengthen and shorten. It can assist with 🤰 birth. It is what allows the nervous system 🧠 to neutralize a stress response.

Our breath is essential for living and is the one thing that will follow us forever throughout this life.

How often do you THINK 🤔 about your breath? Probably not much, however today we challenge you to STOP, relax your jaw, lower your shoulders and take FIVE LONG, SLOW and SMOOTH breaths and sit for a moment to see how it makes you feel.

PAIN, its a literal pain to deal with!

To start: PAIN IS COMPLICATED!🤯

When you’ve had an injury, the first thing you will probably notice is pain. This pain may lead you to seeking the help of a physiotherapist. Worry not, friends! We’ve got you.

The good news is all tissues can heal. It takes approximately 3 months for any tissue injury to heal, including fractures. At that point, there is usually no more ‘damage’ in your body.

But what if you’ve had back pain for years? Or a nagging knee injury from years ago that still hurts?

This is called PERSISTENT PAIN

Once we know your body has healed and there is no more damage, residual pain means that your body has become extra sensitive. In other words, your alarm system for pain isn’t working the way it’s supposed to be. A good analogy for this: normally a fire alarm would only go off if there was an actual fire (ie. A very real threat). Now the fire alarm goes off even just for burnt toast!

When you’ve had an injury, the first thing you will probably notice is pain. This pain may lead you to seeking the help of a physiotherapist. Worry not, friends! We’ve got you.

One of our fearless leaders has returned to in-patient care this week following the birth of her beautiful baby girl last November😍This #SuperBoss never stopped working behind the scenes, however we (along with her patients) are happy to see her back in the clinic.

Andrea is available for one-on-one care Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and is running TWO incredible group classes (SpineCare PhysioYoga and Postnatal PhysioYoga) in a hybrid model of in-person and virtual options.

WOW! 😍 Two years flew by and we are so pumped to continue to grow and BLOOM and help YOU do MORE of what you LOVE! 🥰💕

So many fun things have happened since we opened our doors. We have celebrated marriages 👫 welcomed new squishy babies 👼 and fluffy puppies 🐶. When we opened our doors in 2019, we had a team of 10 practitioners and staff, over the last two years we have more than DOUBLED our size and expanded our services (osteopathy, chiropractic care and massage therapy and yoga therapy to name a few). We have THRIVED during a pandemic, all thanks to the support from friends, family, our AMAZING clients and our ROCKSTAR 🤩 team.

Did you know Andrea and Lisa have known each other since 2014? However it wasn't until 2018 that the seed for Bloom was planted and we started to create the idea for an intentional space where individuals feel safe, heard and supported in their return to health, performance and everyday life.
