Because there’s nothing quite like waking up tired, needing coffee to function, and wondering why the hell you’re ready for bed by 3 PM. 😂
Here’s what I wish more women knew:
1. Your afternoon crash might start at breakfast.
Coffee and toast might get you out the door, but may not keep you energized for long.
Adding protein, fibre and enough food to breakfast can make a big difference.
2. Eating LESS isn’t always the answer.
Skipping meals, eating tiny lunches or constantly cutting calories can leave you under-fuelled.
If you’re exhausted, hungry and craving everything by 3 PM, ask yourself if you’re eating ENOUGH.
3. Your sleep might be changing even if you’re doing everything “right.”
During perimenopause, fluctuating hormones can affect sleep quality, even before hot flashes begin.
And poor sleep affects your energy, appetite, mood and motivation.
It’s not always about needing a better bedtime routine.
4. Exercise should build your energy, not constantly drain it.
You don’t need intense workouts five days a week.
Strength training, walking and adequate recovery can help improve your energy.
And YES, even 15-minute strength workouts count!
5. Exhaustion doesn’t have to be your new normal.
Our bodies change after 40, but don’t blame every energy dip on aging or hormones.
Low iron, thyroid issues, stress, poor sleep and other health conditions can contribute too.
If fatigue persists, talk to your healthcare provider.
❤️ Here’s what I REALLY want you to remember:
You deserve more than enough energy to survive your workday.
You deserve energy for the walk after dinner.
The workout you’ve been wanting to start.
The weekend adventures.
The people you love.
And everything that makes your life YOURS.
Start paying attention to how you’re fuelling, moving, sleeping and recovering.
Small changes can make a meaningful difference.
