Rural Care Co From Pregnancy to Palliative, we are here — at Home.

Rural isn’t just where we work.
It’s our roots. 🤎

I was born and raised in this small farming community in Saskatchewan, surrounded by fields, gravel roads, neighbours who knew one another, and families who looked after their own.

Long before Rural Care Co. existed, this place shaped the way I understood community.

It taught me that where you live matters. That home matters. That people shouldn’t have to leave the places and people they love simply because they need more support.

Today, Rural Care Co. serves communities across Central Alberta, but so much of what we are building is rooted right here.

In the belief that rural families deserve exceptional care.

That small communities are worth investing in.

And that whenever possible, care should come to you.

From this little Saskatchewan farming community to the rural Alberta communities we now have the privilege of serving—
We’re here, at Home. 🤎

There’s something special about walking into a rural hospital.

The staff know their patients by name. Families gather in small rooms. Conversations are honest, hard, and deeply personal.

We’re regularly invited into rural hospitals across Central Alberta to sit beside individuals and families as they ask, “What happens next?”

Can Mom come home?
What support will we need?
Who can help us?

Those conversations are exactly why we offer In-Hospital Consultations.

Sometimes people don’t need more information—they need someone to help make sense of it all. Someone to explain the options, connect the dots, and help build a plan they feel confident moving forward with.

Whether home is the goal or not, we’re here to help you understand what’s possible and walk alongside you every step of the way.

Navigating the healthcare system as a rural Albertan comes with its own challenges. We understand those challenges because we’re rural too. And we’re here to help make sense of it all. 🤎

If you thought you could hear a tractor in the background of our phone call... you weren’t imagining it.

We don’t just serve rural communities—we’re part of them.

Around here, conversations naturally turn to the weather, the hay crop, and whether everyone managed to get it baled before the rain. Those same conversations happen around kitchen tables, hospital beds, and home visits.

That’s what makes rural care different. We understand this way of life because we live it too.

At Rural Care Co., we’re neighbours first, nurses second, and we’re proud to care for the communities we call home. 🤎

May 11–17 marks National Nursing Week.

This year’s theme, “The Power of Nurses to Transform Health,” recognizes the extraordinary impact nurses have in shaping healthcare, driving innovation, and advocating for compassionate, patient-centred care.

As we reflect on the names, faces, and stories that make up our nursing team, we are reminded that the power of nursing extends far beyond clinical care. Our nurses help transform not only health outcomes, but also the lives of our clients and their families during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.

Through compassion, advocacy, knowledge, and human connection, nurses create comfort in uncertainty, dignity in hardship, and strength in community.
To our incredible team — thank you for the care you provide, the trust you build, and the difference you make every single day.

This week is National Hospice Palliative Care Week.
In alignment with this year’s theme, “Palliative Care Everywhere,” we light a candle — just as we do in our practice of honoring the lives we care for through both birth and death.

This candle represents compassion, dignity, and the belief that every person deserves access to quality palliative care, wherever they may be — at home, in hospice, in hospital, and throughout every community.

At Rural Care Co., our nurses meet you wherever you are. Providing consultations in-home, hospice, or hospital to answer your questions, collaborate with your care team, and provide care plans that align with your goals.

Preparing for birth isn’t just about information — it’s about feeling supported, grounded, and confident as you step into this season.

The Intuitive Birthing Series was created to offer more than a traditional prenatal class. It’s a space to learn, move, breathe, ask questions, and prepare — together.

Led by two experienced doulas, this four-week group series blends practical education with emotional and physical preparation, supporting you through birth and into postpartum.

Group sessions run throughout the year
Private in-home classes are also available

Register for an upcoming series through the link in our bio.
