Hi my name is Mimi, and I am a full time professional occultist, medium, and witch.
I’ve collected questions some of you have asked me over the years, and figure it would be fun to share them.
Q: What’s your big three?
Mimi: Aquarius Sun, Capricorn Moon, Aries Rising
Q: Are there spirits who hide your keys or who rearrange your furniture?
Mimi: In my case, it’s mostly socks that go missing.
Q: Why become a professional psychic witch?
Mimi: Why not? The title matters less to me than what I get to witness and be part of. I’ve spent years building on some innate skills so I can be of service to people at the strange, tender edges of their lives, and I take the responsibility that comes with that seriously.
Q: Hex an ex or simply thrive in public?
Mimi: I don’t see why I’d have to choose.
Q: Do you cast in Latin or…?
Mimi: In English, Mandarin, some Latin on occasion.
Q: If you could teach every witch one thing, what would it be?
Mimi: I’d teach good manners toward spirits, the land and other practitioners, and magical self-defence, by first checking your own biases, because I’ve watched plenty of people (myself included, more than once) call something a psychic attack when it was mostly their own fear. I’d tell them to read the news from varied sources. Also patience, and documenting their workings so they can refine their technique over time.
Q: What’s a witch stereotype that’s embarrassingly accurate about you?
Mimi: Fondness for Halloween decor, dark humour, growing collection of poison plants, little jars and bottles, Chelsea Wolfe. My distrust of overly cheerful people.
Q: And the least witchy thing about you?
Mimi: I am terrified of horror films.
Q: What’s the strangest thing someone has asked you to read for?
Mimi: Whether he was Jesus, back for another round. I gave him the same care I’d give any question. He took the answer well, considering.
